Clicking and dragging - drags and fragments. Need to resize pg.

Every time I go to click and drag a piece of art it takes other material with it and the page kind of fragments. Then I have to resize the page and all is fine. I am doing catalog work and it is a real pain. Any words of wisdom?

Which version of QuarkXPress are you using and on which platform?

You can also check that only that piece of art lies in the picture box when you are trying to do a drag and drop

I cant scrol down because my lap top's screen is too far moved to the right. how do I drag the screen to the left?

There are more than a couple ways to get your screen focus back...

1. If you can click at the top of the screen and drag it to the left. Once you can see the edge of the screen you should be able to resize it within your parameters.

2. You can double-click on the top of the screen to make it full screen.

3. Right-click on the Task Bar and select Cascade Windws to see if you can get it back in focus.

4. Last resort, you may be able to change the screen resolution so that you get more resources on the screen.

Hope this helps!

On excel, how do I resize and move a pie chart (not the whole plot area)?

click on the frame of the chart, then hover over the frame of the chart. If the cursor is hovered at the corners or centre of each of the sides, the pointer changes into a two way arrow, click and drag at this point to resize. To move the chart, hover over the frame of the chart at any other point and and the cursor changes into a 4-way arrow, click and drag to move the chart to your desired posi.tion

Huw to insert image to pagemaker image box?

  • 1
  • Go to the page on which you want to insert the graphic.
  • 2 Select one of the three graphics placeholders from the toolbar and position it on the page; the placeholders are polygons containing an "X".
  • 3 Select the placeholder that you positioned on the page.
  • 4 Go to the File menu and select Place.
  • 5 Navigate to the graphic file you want to insert in the document.
  • 6 Select the file and click OK to place the graphic inside the graphic placeholder.
  • 7 If the placeholder is too small to contain the entire graphic, resize the placeholder by selecting it, then dragging one of its handles outward.
  • 8 Resize and reposition placed graphics where you want them to be located.
  • 9 To resize a graphic, select it, then drag one of its handles (small boxes that are part of the selection box) outward to enlarge the graphic or inward to shrink the graphic.
  • 10 To reposition the graphic, drag it into position on the page.

I have a clip art image of desktop and want to transfer to an e-mail i'm sending. thanks

With Mac OS X Mail, this is really quite simple - all you have to do is either:
    • Click and drag the image from the desktop into the message writing window.
    • Or, click 'attach' and find the image you want. Click 'Choose File', and it will appear in your message - drag it around to wherever you want it.
    Hope that helped!

Start manu is set up on the top right in my computar how to take it back to bottum left or it's original position?

LOL... my dad calls with these question all the time...

WindowsXP? or Vista.. not much difference...

Right click on the start bar somewhere where there are no icon or boxes with programs.

if the "lock task bar" is checked (I assume it is not since it moved) uncheck it.

now hold down the left mouse button on the bar, again where there are no icons etc, and drag it where you want it.

Now Right click it and check the 'lock task bar'

Need to reverse letters for print on tee shirts

    1. MS Word Instructions:
    2. Click the AutoShape (AutoShapes: A group of ready-made shapes that includes basic shapes, such as rectangles and circles, plus a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart symbols, stars and banners, and callouts.), picture (picture: A file (such as a metafile) that you can ungroup and manipulate as two or more objects or a file that stays as a single object (such as bitmaps).), WordArt (WordArt: Text objects you create with ready-made effects to which you can apply additional formatting options.), or clip art (clip art: A single piece of ready-made art, often appearing as a bitmap or a combination of drawn shapes.) (The thing you want to duplicate.)
    3. Click Copy default.aspx?assetid=za060446791033 and then click Paste default.aspx?assetid=za060446821033.
    4. On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw, point to Rotate or Flip, and then click Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical.
    5. Drag and position the duplicate object so that it mirrors the original object.
Note You may need to override the Snap-To-Grid option to position the object precisely. To do this, press ALT as you drag the object.
This actually sounds easier to me than buying and loading some extra program. Dale

    Wireless Optic Logitech mouse performace

I had the exact same problem with my original Logitech wireless mouse that came with a wireless keyboard. I eventually figured that the button component inside the mouse wasn't making consistent contact causing unintended double clicking or dropping while dragging. I fixed it by doing some soldering to switch the left mouse button with the right mouse button, since I didn't have to use double clicking or dragging with the right mouse button. It worked pretty well for several months until the switched left button started showing the same problem again. Now my newer Logitech mouse (it's more expensive Nano wireless mouse) is having the same problem after about 1 year using it. I think there's a serious durability problem with the button component that Logitech is putting on their mice. I may do the same trick again on this mouse, but now I don't consider Logitech as a good mouse manufacturer anymore. They used to make good quality hardwares but I guess they aren't that good anymore with all those cheap Chinese suppliers for their parts. :(

    Persistent drag

If you're connecting it using the USB connector, try switching to the PS2 one.  I had various wierd problems with the standard MS USB HID driver with this device.  The standard MS PS2 driver works reliably.
