Question about Washing Machines
We have a maytag washer (quiet series 100) that the appliance people put a reconditioned motor in- it did not work at the time they finished so they told us to buy a new one. I tried it a couple of weeks later and it would work. It then will only work sometimes and seems to have a problem with spinning on the spin cycles. It tries really hard and sometimes it will spin but most of the time it will just shut off. The drum itself does not move freely like I think they are sopposed to- sould there be a spring off or something that simple?
They are coupled directly to the motor. with a belt usually sometimes direct though if you uncouple the motor from the drum and then try to spin it it will tell you whether it is the drum or the motor that is hard to spin.
