Its a 115000 btu multi fuel.it starts up,runs a few seconds,then shuts off.it doesnt smoke or anything wierd,it just shuts off.

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------

Engine speed decrease when stert the AC

IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE IDLE SPEED TOO LOW. IDLE SPEED SHOULD BE 750 - 850 RPM. IDLE SPEED NEED TO BE CORRECT OR IT WILL CAUSE ENGINE RUN ROUGH OR STALL OUT.AC COMPRESSOR WILL TAKE SOME POWER FROM ENGINE WHEN AC IS OPERATING.

Well it is a bunch of issues in my 2000 Kia Sephia When car is stoped at a red light it shakes or sputterers. the gas mileage is horrible what increases and keeps gas mileage in a kia sephia besides...

Mind did the same thing all you need to do is change the spark plugs and the 2 electric wires on top and it will stop and get better miliage..

Hi, my 1997 Sephia has a 1.8L and when it idles their is no pattern to it, it will rise and lower and somtimes stall out. Once im driving it will randomly shut off and lock up and the check engine light...

Without more info. I would have the codes pulled from the engine computer, and start there, but it sounds like a bad idle control valve.

Try running some fuel treatment in your fuel tank, if that doesnt help, try checking your spark plugs, It might be time to change them.

Go to Auto Zone to get the fault codes read. They'll do it for free. Then, they can tell you exactly what parts are going bad.

Try this procedure and let me know if it cures the problem.

Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
