Kenmore Solid State 110-82294500 Does not spin and empty all water

Kenmore Solid State 110-82294500 Limited Edition Series belt drive Washing Machine. Purchased around 1986. The Limited Edition has a solid state control panel. I Have checked the lid switch and I think it is okay - when I put the two wires together the tub still does not spin. Can only access workings by the back lower panel or by tipping the washer over. Washer does not spin and completely empty of water. Please help!

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

Some problems that can occur with your top-loading washing machine are:

There's an error code on the digital display

It doesn't work at all
It won't drain
It doesn't spin
It doesn't agitate
It's noisy
It leaks
It's off balance
There's no hot water
There's no cold water
It's slow to fill
There's no water at all
The clothes are wet after spinning
The cycle doesn't advance
There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
It's overfilling
It's underfilling
The water temperature is incorrect

Hope this may help;

SOURCE: Spin cycle does not work; I can open lid and push

There is likely a problem with the clutch, or transmission, or both. A quick check would be to LEAN (don't lay the machine on it's back) the washer back, and check for oil spray on the inside of the cabinet walls, or just a puddle of oil underneath. If there is oil, the transmission will need replaced, along with the clutch. When the oil leaks out, it tends to get into the clutch band and cause slipping, (clutch may look brown from heat, should be shiny) which is why you have to give it a boost with your hand. hope that helps some.

If the switch DOES require replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All three sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all three for the best price. If you still need assistance, please contact me and let me know. SOURCE: GE washer does not agitate or spin

There is a fusable link that is known to blow. The replacement is available. Open the front access panel, Remove the tape from the wires that are taped together near the top of the wiring harness, about 3/4 of the way up. You will see a wire that is covered with shrink wrap (White with Red stripe I think) Cut it out, check for open circuit with an ohm meter. If it is open, (no continuity) Replace it. I used a regular piece of wire as a jumper for testing till I got the new fuse. The fuse kit I got comes with 2 of these fusable links. One is for a spare.

Kenmore washing machine not running through cycles.

The Timer is the most common problem. There is no belt, it is direct drive. Call appliance repair store in your area for replacment timer, or call Sears, they will mail it to you

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.

Washer wont aggitate or spin

I think this is the direct drive model, no belt. There is a coupling between the motor and transmission that needs to be replaced. This is a common problem with that type washer.

Kenmore Washing Machine 70 series

When this machine is not spinning, the water should still be able to drain, as the motor drives the pump on the same shaft as the coupler for the tranny. Set to the spin setting and depress the lid switch, if the water still does not drain, you may have something stuck in your pump, which would also lock the motor shaft and not allow it to spin or agitate. If the water does drain, check the motor coupler, which is located between the motor and transmission, if broken, the motor will run but there is no drive to the transmission. Hope this helps...
