Did not find a 3 amp fuse at all. Can you give me more info on the location of this fuse? I am currently looking in the fuse box located on the oposite side of the cd changer.

The problem is likely with the amplifier, this is located in the rear fender. I've never personly changed one of these but the instructions on how to do it on this site should come in handy:
http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/audio-electronics/how-do-you-remove-factory-amplifier-62289.html
The amplifier may be repaired through a local repair shop, it sounds like it's suffering from dry/cracked solder joints.
Hope this is what your after.
Cheers

Hi,
Hi, i had the same problem
here my findings that solved my issue:

  1. disconnect the 3 Amp (not 30 A) fuse labeled N° 72. it is the first in the row, located on the right side of the boot (opposite side of the DVD player)
  2. clean the contacts (use a knife to get the oxidation off making the metal shining),
  3. then put the fuse back.
This solved my issue. I haven't touched to the AMP and Radio connectors.

Thanks!
Sandy

My radio works but when i put on the cd changer it plays but no sound

Are you using an amplifier? If you are, it sounds like you are using the power antenna remote turn on (usually blue) instead of the amplifier remote turn on (usually blue/white). Leaving tuner mode when using the power antenna remote turn on turns the amplifier off.

Would like to put the original CD changer/player

To put the original back in just hope the harness behind the radio wasant cut into. If its not it should just plug right in and mount back up in the stock location.

as far as the cd changer. if you would want to add one. you would need to find the changer, harness and headunit from a model with one.

Is it possible: change cd changer input to ipod input

I'm afraid not. The best advice I can give you is to get a Radio Tuner Adapter for your I-pod. Most prople will tell you to use a Cassette adapter, and this is fine. However it sounds like you want the best sound you can get from your I-pod. The tuner adapter is the way to get it. You will get a better sound frequency range from your factory tuner than your cassette. The factory Head unit in your Sable isn't bad, just changing the factory speakers will make a huge diffrence. Good Luck, and don't forget to vote.

Cd changer

Look in the back where the cd changer used to be if there are any loose wires make sure that they are not touching, If there arent any wires touching, Check the fuse box and see if the radio fuse has blown.
