If i press the ps button on dualshock 3 controller all four lights on it are supposed to flash but it doesn't therefore the ps3 system cannot be turned on using it

Have you charged it? If you have plugged it in and no lights blink you may have a defective controller. If so check with Sony support/

How to install Polaroid Wireless Controller to a ps3

  • Power on the console either using the power button on the front, or by holding down the PS button on your first controller. On the top edge of your main controller, you should be able to see a single red LED flashing beneath the number "1." this indicates that the controller has paired with the console as the primary controller. In any multiplayer games you start, this controller will always be assigned to "Player 1"

Connect a second controller via the USB cable. Plug the larger end into the port on the front of the console and the small connector into the top of the controller. Check that all four lights are flashing, indicating that the controller is charging. It's advisable to let the new controller charge for as long as is practically possible; its rechargeable battery will have a longer lifespan if it is fully charged to begin with.

Press the PS button on the second controller and the red LED under "2" should illuminate. This controller is now paired with your console. You can continue charging the controller and use it to play or disconnect the cable and use it wirelessly.

Controller won't link to the ps3 middle button just flashes as if its trying to connect. I have connected the tab coors but still nothing works.

Is the controller completely charged? If it is, then try this
    1) Manually turn on your PS3 using the power button on the PS3.
    2) Take your USB charger for your controller and plug it into the USB port. (Do NOT turn on your controller yet!)
    3) Plug the controller into the charger that is connected to the PS3 USB port.
    4) Now turn on your controller using the middle "PS" button.

The lights will flash for a few seconds, and that will sync your controller to that particular PS3 system. This might help :D

I plug it in and the charge light stays on for a couple of seconds and thats all it will do

That means that the headset is already fully charged! Whenever you have a fully charged item and you plug it back in, the light will only stay on for a few seconds, signifying it's charged.

Although it would appear as though this question has been touched on earlier, my query is a little different. i recently had my playstation fixed due to the yellow light of death. since i have had it back...

I'm sorry to tell you, but it seems as if both of the batteries in your controllers are busted. They are busted in the sense that their charging capacity has dropped to a level of 0% of what it could originally hold, so it will appear as if it is charging, but it will not retain any of electric juices you are giving it. The reason that they happened to die at the same time was most likely caused by whatever you used to charge them. If you charged them both at the same time with the same charging method, and they both broke, the thing you used to charge them most likely was defective and destroyed the batteries in the process. The only thing I can recommend you do is calling up Sony and asking them to replace your batteries for you (but only if you charged them with a Sony product). Even if they say that they won't reimburse you, keep argueing and they'll give in and send you new batteries. I'd also get whatever you used to charge your batteries fixed too, if it was your console, it is most likely defective. Hope this helped!

    Controller not working

I had the same problem, so I called customer service and had me do this:

    1) with the USB cable plugged into the controller, power down the ps3 and turn the on/off switch in the back to "off".
    2) hold your thumb down on the front button (where you normally can turn it on) while turning the switch on the back to "on" again. keep your thumb or finger on the front switch.
    3) You will hear the normal "beep" that you usually hear when the PS3 boots up, but after a few seconds later, you will hear a secondary beep. Remove your thumb or finger after this second beep and the PS3 will reset itself after a few seconds. I have a projector connected to it, so I had to set the display screen back to HDMI afterwards, but when I disconnected the USB cable the controller worked wirelessly again. The customer service rep said that this allowed the controller to pair with the PS3 again. Note: You probably do not have to have the controller plugged into the USB cable at all while doing this. I just happened to have it plugged in. Hope this helps.

    Controller still wont work

Hmm. I think i'll need a bit more info please.

When you reset your PS3 and the system's light goes red and you hit the PS button your controller the four lights just flash? Is that right? The only time your controller will "connect is when you plug it in with USB?

Try this. Turn your PS3 on. Press the reset button on the back of your controller and hold it for a few seconds, then press the PS button to see if it connects then. If it doesn't you could try removing the internal battery from the controller and putting it back in. That might clear up any settings that were saved in it.

Let me know how it goes.

    Ps3 controller

I was having the same problem. Controller would only work when plugged in.
Solution: I shut down and unplugged the PS3 for several minutes. Plugged in the controller. Turned on the PS3 and let it boot up. Pressed the PS button on the controller and let it sink up. When I unplugged the controller it worked.
