WIN 7.: Right click on Speaker Icon in right lower corner. Select playback devices. A list will appear. Right click on the Headphone you want disabled and click on " disable". I did have some audio issues with my new HP8570w and I updated the Audio driver which also helped with the Headphone / Speaker selection issue I was having. You can download the latest audio (IDT in my case) drivers from HP.com

I have a 2002 Chrysler Town & country and I can't get the sound to work for the Vcr/player Without headphones. How do I get the sound without the headphones?

I had one of these and it turned out to be the headphone jack, when you put the headphone plug into the jack it disables the speaker and when you unplug the headphones it enables the speaker. There's a contact in the jack and it is probably stuck to headphones. The jack may need to be replaced. Try and wiggle the plug a few times but not hard as it may break from the curcuit board.

Headphone jack is broken INSIDE the port and is overriding the speakers. Can I override this override?

Or instead of having to open up your computer and messing with the mobo. Just use the control panel in to disable the headphone jack.

How i do jump out HP jack on Denon AVR-888?

If you don't want to use the headphone jack, then you can take the top cover off and look at the headphone jack board. There should be a cable that can be unplugged from there. This will disable the headphone jack and take care of this problem. This is very common in these models. If you need to be able to use the headphone jack, then the jack will need to be replaced. Denon now has an improved jack that can be installed so this problem doesn't reoccur.

Pioneer VSX-456 headphone jack problem

No the headphone jack doesn't disable the speakers. There are two switches in the lower middle of the receiver that are labeled speaker A and B. Pushing one of these should disconnect the speakers from the receiver.

The unit thinks there are headphone plugged in even when there are not. You need to have the headphone jack replaced. This is a common problem with this model. Another way to fix it if you don't plan on using the headphone jack is to unplug the cable going to the headphone jack board. This will disable the headphone jack, and stop it from sending an erroneous signal to the micro.

Hp input cycles on and off and there's no volume on my denon aver 1610 receiver

Headphone jack is bad. Two ways to fix: Either replace the headphone jack, or if you don't plan on using the headphones, unplug the cable going to the headphone jack pcb. There may be two cable on that board, unplug the one that is closest to the front panel. This will affect nothing else except disabling the headphone jack.

Sound is working but internal speaker is not working

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.

If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)
