I got a friends laptop its a sony and he wants to change his password and get a new easier one, cant remember password to change it.

That's about it just need to get into the old password to put up a new one without downloading anything, do this manually.

The only way to remove the password is to recover unit back to factory settings or use a password removal tool that can be booted from a flashstick or bootable CD, there are many available for download, but thats it unfortunately.

Do not attempt to short out the jumpers on your own. As simple as it is, you can also kill the board. Also, the RTC battery will not effect the BIOS password. Take it in to the nearest Toshiba ASP center and they will reset the BIOS password as well as update it to the latest BIOS revision to avoid it from happening again UNDER WARRANTY. You do not have to pay for this repair.

start windows in safe mode by clicking f8 upon boot
you will see administrator account; log in and go to user accounts and remove the password for your daughter account

Cant remember password

hi, if you keep forgetting your password right it down on a peice of paper and put it in a safe place. Also dont change your password all the time it might be too much to remember then it will get confusing. If you forget it again just go to "forgot password" if there is one then change your password into something short and something easier to remember. i hope this helps.

You cannot get back your old Password. However,you can change your password by following the steps below.
In the Facebook login page, click 'Forgot your password' link below Password input box. In the page that appears, enter your mail id or phone number OR enter your facebook username (if you remember,or ask your friends to copy-paste your username in the URL of your profile) OR enter your full name and your Facebook friend's full name. You would receive mail from Facebook on steps how to reset your password.

Need to know what version of windows you are using? Usually, the only way to get back in is to restore windows to an earlier point before the password was changed. There are ways to do this, but it depends on you version of Windows.

Did you try start the PC in safe mode & Administrator?
Restart your PC, press F8 , Select safe mode with networking prompt, Open the user Administrator, Go to control panel> Users> select the user > change password for it.

try contacting yahoo for help.where you sign in,theres a msg from yahoo to contact them if you cant gain access
if you need to close your yahoo account youll need the password to do so.
if you cant get any help retreiving your paassword,i advise you make a new yahoo account,informing your friends of the new addy.get yourself a password you can remember and make your secret question,one that you wont forget.

You can have your friend log into the router with their laptop and check the setting in the router. Of course, your friend will need to remember what his password is for the router as well. If he doesnt remember that, then the only solution is to reset the router to the default.

I have set the password for administrator when i entered the bios set up. you can change its setting but not the configuration unless you've entered the password. you can't change the password with a new one if you cant enter the old password. Next time dont forget your password because laptops has its security even when stolen you cant open its bios set up if its protected by password. CMOS battery is in the mother board. You need a service technician to open your laptop to reset the bios setup battery.
