How do i open my nat for my motorola sbg900

for static IPs: check your router settings. router should be in "bridged" mode so that all the devices have own static "lan" ips like 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.255 router will have one lan ip static and one global ip(one it gets from service provider) you must manually give one address of 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.255 for your xbox. then give correct subnetmask (default 255.255.255.0) and gateway routers lan ip (default 192.168.0.254) you can aslo put routehrs lan ip as default dns if needed dmz or port forwarding is a tool in your router settings you can assign outside ports to specific ip i have only done manual port forwarding, not sure how dmz works.

I cant connect with the dlink dir 600 with my macbook pro

1. If you have downloaded all the updates for this model router and it still will not connect it may be due to "incompatibility withe Macbook Pro or the what is call end of life" for this device and a new router will probably work better.
I would check D-Link's page for update for your model
2. check to see if your setting for TCP/IP is correct
( that is that you don't have the ip ( internet protocol ) set to a static IP that is a set IP.
3. Check to see if you have you setting for DHCP ( automatically) this will allow the server to set an ip or the the router.
Most routers that have there settings for static are a special setup.

I am trying to install the WRT160 N router, but can't install it due to having a Static IP. What should I do? The set up CD is giving the message that the the ethernet cord isn't plugged in. All I am doing...

Do not run the set up disc do it manually.
.You said that you have a static IP.
Is the static IP for the internet service provider or it is on the computer.
If you have set up the static IP on the computer then you will need to remove the static IP address from the computer and set it to obtain IP automatically.
If you have a static IP given by the ISP then you can use it to set up on the router.
Check the Ip address of the computer when connected to the router.
I believe the default gateway will be 192.168.1.1.
open the set up page of the router. default password of the router will be admin. Once you open the set up page of the rotuer, you will find the option Internet connection type. set it to STATIC IP address.
then you will get the option to enter the static IP address given by ISP.
Enter the information and Click save settings at the bottom and you will
be able to go online.

Linksis router wont work help me out

First of all contact your isp and get your connection settings. If you are able to setup the router using the cd provided then good. If you are still having problems then go ahead and contact linksys (remember linksys charges for the support). I suggest get a technician to assist you in setting up.

I have a static ip that wont access the WAN through router.

I want to make sure that you aren't confusing the routers DHCP setting for your ISP, versus, setting the router as DHCP so that your clients can receive an address inside your wireless router. If you go to this page, you can find the routers user guide manual, you'll only need to make sure you input the correct version for your router either version 1 or version 2.

http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT55AG/download

On page 21 of the pdf manual. You'll find information on setting the DHCP server settings. Here you can assign a static IP to your clientl. The only thing you'll need from that device is the MAC address.

Best of Luck.

Wireless router install on cable modem w/static ip address set

Connect a computer to linksys lan port 1-4, point browser to linksys http://192.168.1.1 under Setup->Basic Setup->Internet Settings choose "Static IP" and fill in the fields below... the field for gateway should be set to the static ip of your cable modem. the field for netmask should probably be 255.255.255.0. It may help to turn on DHCP for local network so that lan hosts can get their ip's from the linksys.

Multiple WAN IP Addresses with a Linksys Router

Yes, however we recommend using the following procedure is the only way you can do so without a block of IP addresses. The example below is for instances where you have multiple public IP addresses that are not in block form. For our example the ISP has given us 3 Public IP addresses. One goes to the FTP server, Web Server, and the Router. You can setup the router for whomever your ISP is. If you have a dynamic IP address and you're unsure on the setup, please see the article on setting up the router with a static IP address. If you have a static IP address please our article on setting up static IP addresses with the router, and it will describe how to setup the router with a static IP address. Once the router is setup, it will provide the 3 PC's (In our example) with internet access. The remaining two public IP addresses should be assigned to the WEB Server and the FTP server. Note - The Web and FTP servers will not be on the Local Area Network of PC-1, PC-2, and PC.

Router as cable modem

This answer is for a Dynamic and Static Cable connection (I.E. ATnT-BI, Cox, Adelphia, Rogers, Roadrunner, Charter, and Comcast). Note: Please configure the router with the computer that was last connected directly to the cable modem. Step 1: Log into the web-based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing). Step 2: Click on the Basic Setup tab. Dynamic IP Address is the default value, however, if Dynamic IP Address is not selected as the WAN type, select Dynamic IP Address by clicking on the radio button. Click Save and Restart. Step 3: Click on the Device Status tab and verify that you have a solid link between the router and the modem. If you do not have a solid link between the modem and the router follow the steps below: # Turn the cable modem off (first) # Turn the router off # Leave them off for 2 minutes** # Turn the cable modem on (first) # Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem # Turn the router on # Wait 30 seconds ** If you have a Motorola (Surf Board) modem, leave off for at least 5 minutes. Step 4: Follow Step 1 again and log back into the web configuration. Click the Device Status tab . If you do not already have a public IP address under the WAN Ethernet heading, click on the DHCP Release and Renew buttons. Setup Static Cable Connection Step 1: Log into the web based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing). Step 2: Click the Basic Setup tab. Select the Static IP Address radio button and enter in your static settings obtained from the ISP in the fields provided. Note: If you do not know your settings, you must contact your ISP. Step 3: Click on Save and Restart. Step 4: Click on the Device Status tab and verify that you have a solid link between the router and the modem. If you do not have a solid link between the modem and the router follow the steps below: # Power cycle the cable modem and router. # Turn the cable modem off (first) # Turn the router off # Leave them off for 2 minutes** # Turn the cable modem on (first) # Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem # Turn the router on # Wait 30 seconds ** If you have a Motorola (Surf Board) modem, leave off for at least 5 minutes.
