Most likely inverter issue, or somewhere in between inverter and LCD, illumination bets thing to do is to take aprt the LCD frame and disconnect and reconnect all wires leading from the inverter. If that doesn't work, the replace the LCD wires and or inverter.

Its a sign of an impact on the screen of your Laptop or a problem with you VGA driver. If this problem is not checked sonner the screen will completely fade out.

Perform the following checks and steps:

goto your device manager and check if your VGA driver has the
working status indicated.

If the VGA driver is intact try reinstalling it.

If the flickering still persist then get a new VGA card.

Monitor

That's better.
Yep, 95% chance it is the power inverter problem.
If you don't remember the screen having a pink tint or flickering for a while or being dark at the middle top or bottom before it went, then your bulbs should be okay.
It will need at least all the capacitors replaced.
I fix many of these types on ebay.

Problem with monitor

Hi.
Are you able to see a slight image on it at dusk and maybe with the help of a flashlight. since your blue light stays on the video board, may be okay.
It sounds like you have bad capacitors on your powerboard or possibly a burned out transistor on the inverter.

Only way to really tell is to open it up.
If you unplug the screen to video board ribbon, you may notice a different effect in the screen lighting.
There is a chance one of your bulbs is creating a problem
Should the screen happen to light up all white, then your power board and inverter are okay and the problem may be in the video board.
If it looks pinkish or dark or flickers then the bulbs or a bulb may be the issue.
If it flashes on then goes off, it's in the power or inverter board.

Screen on Toshiba M35x S149 Laptop blank/flickers

Ok, from the beginning. Can you do a cold boot and get into the bios? (is there an image on the screen then)
Secondly, can you connect to an external monitor and see an image?
Did it do this only when it was heading in to hibernation? If so, it sounds like the power management needs some adjustment.
If there's no image on the external monitor, you may have a video/motherboard problem, or it still could be the operating system/power management.
It all depends on if you have video in bios.
Let me know.
Good luck
