My kitchen aid dryer kgys758lq8 does not turn when drying its a gas dryer

First thought is broken belt or bad motor

Could be a relay or contactor that is bad that controls the motor too.

Changing the belt

goes around idler pulley and motor. idler pulley fits into slots on bottom of dryer and the belt tension holds it in place. looking at it from the front and going clockwise the belt goes around the drum and then around the motor pulley and thru the idler pulley. in fact if you put the bottom loop of the belt thru the pulley from the left you then loop it around the motor pulley.

Estate dryer tensioner loose while installing belt

Go to www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html there is a video that will show you how to replace it. It may be a different model but the process will be the same. You can also enter in your model # for diagrams and illustrations. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Drum does not turn, not very old ,cannot access inside

Sounds as if you have a broken belt.
If your machine is a front loading machine, then you would normally access the belt by removing the front of the machine.
This will expose the drum and belt, if you remove the drum, then it will expose the rollers, idler arm with pulley, and motor.

I hope this helps

The dryer cycle is not working. It stays still instead of going around.

Ok but is it making any kind of noise? If it is making a noise then you will need to possibly replace the belt. call your authorize technician to replace the belt and they can also check and clean you lint traps and the insed of the unit.
Cheers

How to put a belt on a estats dryern tedx640jq

open lint trap door and remove two screws. pull lid toward you and lift up at front edge. on either side of the front door panel there is a 5/16" sheet metal screw. when screws are removed, pull top of door panel out to clear drum and lift. should be able to access drum and idler from there but make sure you unplug dryer first, double check belt for twists, rotate drum back and forth. While your in there you should clean out lint and check rollers.
