some of the early washers had problems with a weak or faulty motor . take front panel loose and look at motor board it may look burnt on some of the resistors or look at the clear fuse at front of board it may be burnt if so use a motor/board conversion kit p#12002039.

You may have an obstruction in the pump, a faulty belt, or a pump failure. If the washer is unable to remove the water as it spins, centrifugal force would cause water to exit over the top and onto the floor. As the washer spins, slowly at first, water is extracted via the pump running at full rpm. As the water level decreases, so does the weight of the load, so the tub will begin spinning faster. If the pump fails in its job to remove the water, the weight is more than the drive system can handle, The clutching action slows the rpm of the motor which, in turn causes the motor to automatically shut off on its thermal protector. After the motor sufficiently cools, the thermal protector closes and the motor resumes the cycle. If the problem does not resolve itself, the motor will continue to cycle off and on, which could lead to a motor failure. Also, rarely a clothing item may attempt to breach the top during such an episode, and cause a jamming of the inner and outer tub and even, subsequently make its way to the pump, so inspect there for foreign material.
Tip: If clothing is in the pump or stuck up by the tub collar, the cause is due to overloading the washer. Cutting back on load sizes will prevent this from happening in the future.
I have provided you with a link that will give exploded view diagrams and parts imagery with cost and shipping details.
Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/Dryer-Parts/index.aspx Take a look at what a new motor costs for your machine and go from there. Is may not be a motor is could be a belt or a bearing. I rebiult a washer for less then 50 dollars that one did not need a motor just bearings and a belt. I would take the washer apart so you can get an idea of what went wrong and then look at parts to repair it and decide what to do good luck
