Searchindexer.exe is always running and using cpu between 5-70% so I can't watch videos, can't play games, can't do anything. if i shut it down it restarts itself in a few minutes. I've taken a look at a couple of forums but all of them said that searchindexer is one of Vista's applications the thing is I'm runnig Xp Home so I don't know why it is installed on my computer and it's giving me quite a headache. Pease help!
The fasted way is to simply disable the Windows Search service. Run
Services (just type “Services” at the Start Search bar), right click on the
Windows Search service and select “Properties”. Then choose “Disabled” for
the start type. Afterwards, you have to stop this service by right clicking
on it and selecting “Stop”.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
