WMG30GS Whirlpool microwave display

please follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
  1. Main control board If the display on your microwave has gone out completely this is usually a sign that it is a malfunctioned main control board. To correct the issue the main control board would need to be replaced.
  2. Display board A display board can either malfunction completely or partially, causing two separate results. If the display on the unit has completely gone out, this can be attributed to either a bad main control board or display board. On the other hand, if the display has only partially gone out, this is usually a sign that the display board is defective and will need to be replaced

GE microwave JE1660WB001 does not heat makes humming sound

The magnetron has gone and is the heart of the microwave oven, this part is the most expensive to replace, cheaper to buy new in the long run.

After the fan oven on my cooker is switched off, the light goes off , but the fan remains on. Tried leaving it for a while to see if it would turn itself off on it's own, but now have to switch cooker off...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

I really do not want to tell you this but you are going to have to make that dreaded warranty service call. There is a relay that controls the fan that is also controlled by yet another relay. The control board with these relays on it is VERY expensive. It seems your control board early on has a problem that WILL be covered by the manufacturers warranty. Break out the owner's / product manual and make that dreaded call for "warranty service." When you make the call they will need the model number, serial number, date of purchase, proof of purchase (tech needs proof also) and place of purchase.

Anything else I would tell you to do would void your warranty. I apologize for not being able to help you without causing problems with your warranty.

If you do not have an owners manual or product guide I will need your geographic region that you live in (not addr) to get you the number for your warranty service

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Electronically everything works EXCEPT the actual cooking. The time punches in and when I push start it just acts as a timer NOT a Microwave.

It's possible the magnetron tube, the microwave source, has gone bad, or one of the parts in its power supply has failed. There may be bad connections on the control circuit board, or the board itself is not working properly. One of the door interlock switches may be bad or is out of adjustment. The most frequent cause is the magnetron, particularly is you've had the oven for a while and it's gotten lots of use. Just like in a light bulb, wires in the magnetron can burn out, and one day the oven just quits heating.

Because of hazardous voltages present and the chance of microwave leakage if repairs aren't done correctly, you should leave servicing to a professional. A service shop can diagnose the problem and give an estimate. Or you can look at new ovens, which is often a more economical choice. The magnetron is the most expensive part to replace; between the part cost and labor charge, it's often not much more to buy a new oven. Sometimes a new oven can even cost less.

Hope this helps you decide what to do. Thanks for using Fixya!

Error Code F-9 Sears Microwave Model 721.64683300

It is not the most straight forward job and can be quite tricky for the uninitiated.
If its under warranty ( but I guess its not looking at the model # , ) return it!

The cost of a magnatron and a board is expensive (It is likely they are both involved in this as there sound like arcing) I would just replace the whole unit. Microwaves are not expensive items these days, but ones own life fiddling with electrics is still quite valuable.
