SOURCE: AutoCAD 2004 for PC: Are AutoCAD 2004 and Windows 7 compatible?...

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?
(making a program work with windows 7)

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_52.jpg

How to run autocad 2004 in window 7 home premium 64 bit?

You can try in WinXP compatibility mode but I doubt it will work. Right click on the AutoCAD icon and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and then set it to run in Windows XP SP2 mode.

I need autocad 2006 activation code

AutoCad is Propiratery software owned by AutoDesk. To get an activation code you must have a valid license. If you have a valid license, and are having issues activating it, I would reccomend talking to AutoDesk support.

If you do not have a license, they can be ordered off of various retailers on the internet.

Thanks,

I am trying to install AutoCAD 2004 on my new computer with windows 7 and wont install. Any ideas?

AutoCAD 2004 and Windows 7 are NOT compatible. You will need to upgrade to AutoCAD 2010 either 32-bit or 64-bit. Even with the upgrade, there are known limitation issues.

AutoCAD 2004 / Windows 7 compatibility?

If it works in Vista you shouldn't have any problems. Easiest way to find out is to install it!

You can always just uninstall the program fi you run into problems.

32 bit program to 64 bit opperating system

From the Autocad webiste:
System Requirements AutoCAD® Civil and AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2009 Recommended System Requirements Recommended configuration (excluding server components used with project management capabilities):
  • Intel® Pentium® 4 (3 GHz or higher); AMD Athlon™; multiple processors supported, dual-core supported
  • 32-bit only: Microsoft® Windows Vista® Ultimate/Business/Enterprise, Microsoft® Windows XP (SP2)
Note: Windows XP 64 and Windows Vista 64 are supported in 32-bit compatibility mode only.

Here's how you should be able to run it in compatibility mode:
1. Right click on the Autocad Icon in your start menu
2. click on Properties
3. click on the Compatibility tab at the top
4. check the box next to Compatibility Mode and select Vista 32 bit if it is given as an option.

I don't have Vista here, but that is how it works in XP and I did do a search and it appears to be the same in Vista.

Conflict with Autocad 2004 (using Windows Vista)

Autocad 2004 is designed to be used with Microsoft Windows XP (Professional, Home Edition, or Tablet PC Edition), Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows NT 4.0 (SP6a or later) therefore I'd suggest to run your Autocad 2004 using Compatinity Mode --> Right click on the program icon--> properties-->Compatibility--> select one of the versions above
