New - but will not charge up (no light on earpiece).

Bought one on eBay and will not light up (charge). The power adapter (green) light comes on but not the ear piece light (should be red accroding to the manual. I tried different power points, putting adapter into power point before connecting to earpiece and after... Nothing seems to get the red light on the earpiece to light and start the charging process. Box seemed unopened but they are hardly tamper proof boxes... Was advertised as Brand New. The piece seemed new (no obvious marks on it)... There is a warrantee card in the box but not sure if they would honour an eBay purchase?

    Hi All,

According to their Tech Support, the battery in the earpiece can become damaged or dislodged in transit and they have an online form you can fill in and get a replacement sent to you if you can prove new purchase.

WHAT DOSE IT MEAN WHEN THE LIGHT ON THE POWER ADAPTER TURNS BRIGHT GREEN RIGHT AFTER BEING PLUGGED IN THEN TURNS TO A LIGHT GREEN BUT THE SECOND ITS PLUGGED INTO THE LAPTOP IT SHUTS OFF

Bright green means there's power to the power adapter, light green means it's charging, and when the light goes off it's charged. It usually means your laptop is fully charged when you plug it in, and it goes off. And the laptop doesn't power the battery, the battery powers the laptop. Does the laptop come on when plugged to a electrical source, you should be able to plug it in and use it while its directly plugged to the wall via the adapter. Make sure your using the correct voltage and amps in order to charge the battery, And when your charging the voltage going in is about 19+ volts but the battery only put out 11 or 12 volts to the laptop.
So do a check list so you know what you did, and write it down. I would check the adapter with a volt meter first see how much its putting out. If it's not putting out enough. If so you found your problem. If not move onto the battery, and check it with the meter to see how much its charged. Batteries go bad and have to be replaced once in a while. Iv'e bought 2 off ebay myself, and there not to expensive. Let us know how it goes, or call up and talk to an expert, it will save you alot of time. Hope i helped a little.

Power adapter issues...

If you can jiggle the the power cord right at where it plugs into the computer and sometimes the green light comes on, that means your DC Power Jack is bad. There was probably nothing wrong with your other power cord. When the DC Power Jack is bad the laptop will not power on if the battery is drained of all of it's power because the Power Cord can't charge the battery.

Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

We have never been able to charge our VPC-T700. We bought it new and haven't been able to use it after the batteries died. How do you charge it?

The AC power adapter may charge the battery. Make sure that the poser of the camera is off and then insert the battery before starting.
1. Connect one end of the adapter converter to the end of the AC power adapter. Make sure camera is off.
2. Insert the other end of the adapter converter to the PC/AV terminal on the camera.
3. Insert the other end of the AC power adapter into a wall outlet. The status LED lights green when charging is started and lights off when charging is completed. It lights red when a charging error has occurred.

Dell 9400 wont show AC power icon

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the about10.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Solid green: The battery is charging.

  • Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the about41.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).

  • Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.

  • Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
Looks like the AC adaptor is faulty.

AC Adapter is beeping

the best would be ebay. type in your model number and you should find a compatible version. i dont recommend the universals, they dont show up on certain computers correctly such as dells. most charges retail on ebay for about 16 bucks. if you want it fast. get it overnighted. still will be cheaper than anything you buy in the store..

heres a link

good luck!

Getting hot underneth

Both batteries could be dead. But if you bought a new battery, it's unlikely. I don't know what green light you see, but if it's on the power adapter, it just means it's turned on--not that it is charging.
Two possibilities: Your power adapter is bad or the motherboard is bad. Because you say the computer works if plugged in, then you have ruled out the adapter.
You should be checking/cleaning the battery contacts and if all else fails, going for a new motherboard.

Charge light does not come on???

I had the same problem after buying a new dvd from bestbuy.

although this may sound wierd, but check if you have a battery in there, since its coming without it inside.

maybe you bought it without a battery.
