Question about HP LaserJet 4L Printer
I took my 4L apart. You can make a spacer for the inside of the gear, just stuff it with a piece of cotton. The motor on mine is malfunctioning, so I have to order a new one. It is $29.00

I believe it is the gear attached to the motor. It slips and causes a grinding noise. Does anyone know how to get a replacement gear?

Did this occur suddenly or over a period of time it got worse?
Did it happen after a jam or other activity like replacing the drum?

Tips for a great answer:
The noise coming from the printer is an indication that there is a hardware issue. It would be best to call Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.
