Use the connected pc, its always best to use connected pc, then test using wireless laptops

Hello, Trying to install this NetGear RangeMax NEXT WN311B into a Pentium III computer with a AMD chip, should be fairly simple just put SSID and Passphrase, - IT WILL NOT CONNECT! Please help

From a computer that uses an Ethernet cable to connect to the router,
access the web-server "inside" the router, and enable "logging" of events,
i.e., attempts to connect, and IP-addresses handed-out by the router to wired/wireless clients.

Then, on the computer with the RangeMax, try again to connect.

Go back to the computer connected to the web-server, and "refresh" the view of the newly-updated "log" file. What new messages are displayed?

Howdy. We are not connected in any way with Netgear, but I hear your frustration. Since you have only one ethernet plug,I wonder if you might try using the new netgear rangemax instead of the other netgear router rathern than with it. They suggest you use these with the rangemax:
"We recommend using this product with the RangeMax Next Wireless-N Adapters (WN511B, WN311B, WN121T"
Good luck with your situation, I'm rooting for you:)

Netgear wireless router WNR834B has died ... no power ... no connection. :-(

You need to return it if it is under warranty. If not you need to buy a new router. I suggest getting a Belkin.

No Power to my Netgear Rangemax Next Wireless N-Router WNR834Bv2

This happens from time to time with these routers. It happenned to me with a Linksys and I found that the power unit in the router failed. One thing you could do is try a couple of different wall sockets or see if another adapter might work. Is your Netgear new enough to get replaced by the store?

Get the driver for the WN121T from the NetGear webset and install it before pluging the adapter into the notebook. Use a wired connection on the notebook until you have the drive downloaded.

Belkin F5D5231-4 - create a wireless access point

I have had good luck with the NetGear Rangemax WPN824. It has multiple antennas that are supposed to provide better range, and your kids will like the blue blinking lights.

Nintendo has a list of incompatible wireless routers:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessRouterIncompatible.jsp

and the Rangemax is not incompatible.

Wii can use 802.11B or G.

Since the Rangemax is both a wireless access point and a router (with 4 ethernet ports), you can just replace your existing router rather than plugging this router into your other one.
