I'd need your motherboard manufacturer & model # before I could answer this.

Yes, your Intel motherboard will handle this.

Just be sure to replace the memory with new memory of the same speed.

And watch for ESD's

good luck

Go to the web site of what ever PC you have ( Dell, HP or what ever the PC is ). At the web site you should find section that says drivers and support, or something like that. It will have you select your make and model. You should find the correct drivers there.

Hope this helps.

More information about x86 family 15 model 4 stepping 9 genuineIntel~2666Mhz

for more info on this CPU please see

You can use the information provided above on the intel website to obtain more/alternative information. The family/model/stepping notation is not used by intel, and is difficult to track down.

For your resolution to come up perfectly, update your graphics driver. Also if your monitor came with a disc. Install the software if any available on it.

X86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 9

There are at least four processors which are described as Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 9 f=2.66GHz
These are described at http://www.cpu-world.com/cgi-bin/ajax/parts.fcgi?PART2=Intel+Pentium+4+CPU+2.66GHz&CGI=OUTPUT%3DW%26PART%3DPART2%26ACTION%3DMATCHFP%26WANT%3DURL%26FIELD%3DPART2
Drivers are OS dependent. Depending on your OS try the Intel driver update utility http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/
or go here
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support

but I do not think you will find drivers, because these depend on your motherboard make and model, and your OS, not the CPU
Go to either/and your motherboard manufacturer's website and/or your system (computer) manufacturer's website for drivers.

Processor upgrade

Dear Friend..

Yes, You can upgrade your system with a new Intel Pentium® 4 processor 2.8 GHz, 533 FSB , but only with the BIOS update. Make sure you have the bios version P06 or greater. See the link below:

http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845grg/sb/cs-009954.htm.

If a get a new processor as above, do not forget to update your bios with the the utility available on intel's site.

I am sure, this helps you. For any additional help, you can ask me..
