Have another look at the capacitors you've got. If one of the leads is marked as negative (suppose it's possible that the other would be marked as positive instead, but the standard is usually to mark the negative) then you don't need a bipolar capacitor (for capacitors with one lead coming out each end, look for a band round one end of the capacitor with small minus signs printed on it. For capacitors with both leads coming out the same end, look for a stripe down one side). On the other hand, if there's no indication which lead is meant to be which, you probably need bipolar. If your application needs low ESR, then it needs it. If it doesn't, putting low ESR caps in will do no harm other than pushing the price up a bit and maybe having a bigger footprint. A.

Does LCD screen backlight come on? If so proceed....
USE:CAUTION WHEN DOING THIS....
Try this if repairing yourself...find power supply, small board with no cover over it...check voltages on output pins/plug/connectors (white plugs) three in a row...
1 Plug has 24Volt supply..1 has 12Volt supply and 1 has 5Volt supply when read to ground (screw that holds board in) if you have these voltages it's a safe bet it's the main control board...I just replaced mine and it fixed a problem like yours.

I replaced 3 capacitors and fixed this problem. They were 1-10v 1000uF and 2- 10v 3300uF electrolitic board mount capacitors. Easy to spot on the power board, the tops were bulged up. $5.54 later it works perfectly now.
