Hi, U2-40, mostly appears in sharp copiers when you installing new toner cartridge.the reason of this code is faulty CRUM chip because of different type of toner manufacture . you cane this problem by replace the chip in the new toner cartridge by the chip in old toner cartridge - the chip is located in the rear toner cartridge -
CRUM chip communication trouble = the chip on the toner cartridge is faulty.
1, Try to clear the code press P, *, C, *, to enter the service simulation, on the key pad press 1,6, then the copy start, press execute on the screen.
2, Change the toner cartridge. If it is a brand new one return to supplier as fault, if it is a refilled new one take back to supplier (the CRUM chip serves as a genuine supplies protection for sharp and 'blows' when the toner is empty the re-filler will have to put a new chip on it)
U2 40 is a CRUM comunication error with the toner (wrong toner chip on toner cartridge or wrong toner cartridge) try a new toner.
H4 is a fuser trouble code. Check to make sure all conection are right, Theres a few posible problems for H4, power board, MCU board, thermistor, or broken heat lamp.
This means that the cartridge's sensor is miscommunicating with the copier memory thus the code U2 -40. You should clean the inner sensor connector and the toner sensor of the spilled toner by low blower. Perform this code ;# , interrupt , C, Interrupt keys in that order and press 16 then Print key and the code will be cleared.
Since this appears to be a non-US model I can only base my response on the closest US body type AR-M237.
U2-40 means the countdown (CRUM) chip in your toner cartridge either broke or went to zero. If you can put in a fresh CRUM chip in your cartridge, that's great, otherwise you'll have to replace the toner cartridge.
L4-01 means main motor lock, probably due to a brownout or otherwise missed timing. You can probably get by with a power off and on. Not sharing your copier with other devices on the same outlet will also help here.
To reset error codes, put the machine in test mode with the four-key combo: # - * - C - * ... 16-Start clears your U2 trouble, 14-Start and 17-Start clear the rest. Then hit CA and allow your copier to reboot. Good luck!
There is a long list here for the U2 code so if you let me know I will tell you what it means..
Again what is the Last part of the Code?
If it is U2-40 code, it is a Crum Chip, Take the toner out clean the end of the toner cartridge, there is a chip, a small plastic connection piece with bronze/silver wire on it.
Or replace the toner cartridge.
You will also need to clear the code with simulation 16.
Turning the machine off might work but, not usually.
U2 can have several indications.
The most likely one is that the chip that is on the back of the toner cartridge is not seated properly or has failed.
Try with the machine off, removing and inserting the toner cartridge several times to clean the contacts, next step is to try a new toner cartridge.
There is also a connector on the back frame of the machine that may be dirty or going bad.
