Question about RedOctane Guitar Hero III Wireless Kramer Striker Guitar Controller for Playstation 2

1 Answer

Dropped Notes My Kramer Striker wireless guitar controller for PlayStation 2 worked perfectly for about a month, then started intermittently dropping notes when I would play them. For example, on long notes, I will hold down the correct fret button and strum at the right time, and the game will register that I hit the note, but will then act like I let go of the fret button even though I am still holding it down.

After some tinkering, I was able to fix this problem myself. When I detached the neck, I noticed that the spring-loaded pins from the guitar body had pressed hard enough on the thin contact points that they created holes that went through to the circuit board, thus causing the intermittent signal loss problems. A carefully applied drop of solder on each of the contact points in the neck has my controller now working flawlessly once again.

With an adapter like this it is possible but from what I've heard it doesn't work very well with the PS2 guitars.

Yes. the red button has a short you need to send it back to the manufacturer and get you a new one before it goes completely out. Mine did the same thing and thats what they told me
