Could be for varied reasons, 1). top tension too tight. 2). needle not ruined. 3). crochet ruined, or out of timeing.- check tension, check that needle is good, and see if the timeing is out.

SOURCE: BSR skips stitches

Hi, I am a Bernina tech and can tell you what the problem is. The problem is that the spring on your BSR is weak. Bernina has an upgrade to adding a heavier spring that solves this problem. The older lighter springs on the BSR is shiny. The newer heavier updated spring is dark. Ask your dealer/tech to change this spring to a new one or give you a newer updated BSR. Also be sure they updated the BSR to the latest firmware.

SOURCE: bernina 1130 feed dogs won't feed fabric

On a Bernina 1130 the power on-off knob and the feed dog raise and lower knob look similar and are next to each other on the end of the machine, making it easy to lower the dog assembly entirely, without realizing it. Make sure you didn't accidentally lower the entire feed dog assembly by turning the feed dog knob: you can tell as you turn it if the dogs are up or down. On the Bernina 1130 the knob, like the power should be in the horizontal position to be working both feed and power.

Bernina artista 200, how do i control the feed dogs?

Not sure what you are asking. The stitch length will determine how far the feed dogs travel (thus pulling the fabric) to create each stitch. There is also the foot (or knee) control that determines the speed that the machine runs.

The page 21 of the manual has that information:

Bernina artista

Probably needs a new needle, a bigger needle, a needle right way around and fully up in the clamp. Or the bobbin is in wrong way around. Way, way down on the index of suspicion is a machine that's out of time.

My bernina sewing machine won't do zig zag stitch on one side. when i sew only one half of the sitch works.

Sounds like its skipping stitches. The very first thing to do is put in a new needle. A dull needle will cause this for sure.
After that it may take a tech to make some adjustments.

1) The hook is slightly out of time. On this type mechanism, there is
a slight difference in timing for the different needle positions.

2) The needle bar is slightly too high.

3) The hook and needle are too far apart, and then the skipping would
be more apt to show up on light weight fabrics.
