You probably broke a little tab that connects the letter to the actual button.
Just get some of that thick (foam) double sided tape. regular double sided tape wont work.

good luck

You can use a rubber wide enough to hold h key in place.then, give a little more for the flaps.stick the flaps directly to the keyboard base.you can use small screws or a good glue or mightybond.as for the n key, open the keyboard and clean it.check the rubber pads for breakage.by the way also open the keyboard when you fix the h key.

Is this the only problem with the keyboard not getting uppercase to work ?
While Acer laptops are built to be used on the go, they are not indestructible. An accidental drop or even normal wear and tear over an extended period of time can cause the laptop keys to become dislodged and fall out. Debris can also build up inside the keys and make them stick or stop working. Fixing the keys on your Acer laptop is a quick process that does not require taking the unit to a professional repair shop.

Power off the Acer laptop and flip the unit over. Slide the battery release lever over and lift the battery out of the laptop. Turn the laptop back over and open the lid. Look inside the open area on the keyboard where the key would normally go. Check to see if the plastic retaining clip is still inside the hole. Locate the plastic retaining clip if it fell off the keyboard along with the key. Use a pair of tweezers to set the clip back inside the hole. Line up the holes on the clip with the four raised nodules inside the keyboard hole. Set the key back onto the plastic clip. Push the key down until it clicks into place. Flip the laptop back over if there are keys that are not working properly. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the three screws on the left side of the case that hold the keyboard in place. Turn the laptop back over so that you can see the LCD screen. Push the thin end of a flat-head screwdriver under the LED indicator strip above the keyboard. Pop the strip upward and pull it off the laptop. Lift the keyboard up towards you until the long ribbon cable running from the bottom of the keyboard to the motherboard comes into view. Unplug the cable from the port on the motherboard and then pull the keyboard and its ribbon cable off the case. Spray out the underside of the keys and the inside of the Acer laptop case with canned air. Reassemble the keyboard, LED indicator strip and battery.

Hi! my acer aspire one notebook keyboard not working. i tried to restore the system but still not working. sometimes it works but it automatically write letters without touching any keys. we also tried to...

There might be some sticky stuff under the keys. It could also be that the plastic, or rubber that acts as a spring to keep the keys sticking onto the controller is getting weak. This can happen to keys overtime.

Try the following:

1. Turn the laptop off
2. Press the keys several times and compare the feedback for all keys.
You'll notice the difference.
3. Carefully take off the faulty key from the keyboard and clean using clean cloth, or ear buds.
- Make sure you know what you're doing as this can damage the keys if you're not careful.
4. Fit the keys back.

If the above doesn't work then am afraid you need to buy a new keyboard. You can find this on online stores like ebay.

hope it helps.

The letter 'r' and 't' has come off our laptop how do I put them back on?

Hello,

The keys on the modern day laptop as placed on hinges, and that's how they keep coming up when we press them down.

The problem is, if the keys come out of the keyboard, then we need to check whether that hinge is broken or not. If it's broken, then you need to contact your local Computer Engineer who can fix this for you, as helping you in this medium won't resolve the issue.

If it's not broken, then I would suggest you to carefully see how the mechanism of the keyboard is on your laptop, and place the hinge back on the keyboard.

One more small tip, if neither of them works, then use some permanent glue and try to stick the keys on the keyboard. Though I would recommend this only as a last resort.

Let me know how it goes.

Keyboard letter not working

Disabling just a single key on Windows is possible, but it is highly unlikely that a computer technician could have gone to Control Panel to remap the keyboard.

More likely, one of the keyboard switches is broken, and the A letter is not working anymore. This happens quite commonly, and when the problem occurrs, the keyboard will be replaced.

You can find out if problem is hardware or software going to CMOS settings, and chosing to set a password. Then setting BIOS password AAA. If the A letter works in there, then the problem is software, and it can be fixed reinstalling Windows, if A key does not work in BIOS settings, then the keyboard must be replaced.

The keyboard for an Acer 5315 is not an expensive part, and can be purchased for less than $20.

If a repair job had recently been done, and the laptop came back withthe keyboard problem, try calling back the repairman, and insisting for having the repair done at a reduced fee.

The letters 'wertyuiolhgacbnms' have worn off the key pads. Replacement keypads are £1.50 each on the one website I visited - I would be better off buying a new keyboard! Can I just get stick on...

Try your local craft store they sell "dry Transfer" lettering that you rub on. Then take clear nail polish and cover it with a thin coat to stop them from wearing off.

Replace the keyboard easily available for cheap. Get full manual at Acer website but replacement is easy, be careful of the clips holding the connection to the motherboard, don't remove just slide upward to release..
