Question about Washing Machines
Our maytag washer that is only 3 years old is doing loads no matter the cycle in 2 hours time per load. I have timed all of the cycles and the average is 2 hours long which is completely ridiculous. I've also notice that when the machine is in any cycle the read out will say "washing" but nothing is moving in the machine. More like soaking our clothes. Same thing with the rinse cycle. It says it's rinsing but I hear nothing. Any aides on what is the issue???
It is possible that poor water flow may be the culprit. Most washers operate on a water level system. The water levels have to be reached before the next cycle begins . If the water flow is slow this can extend the run time. To remedy this shut water off to unit disconnect hoses at unit. There usually are screens inside each hose connection on washer gently remove these and clean them.reinstall in washer. Before reattaching hoses put the unattached ends in a pail and turn the water on to flush out the hoses. Then reattach them and see if this solves the problem. Hope this helps.

A friend had this problem and was ready to buy a new machine. Sometimes it worked and sometimes not. I took a last look before new machine and found a coin that would intermittently block the pump/discharge port on the machine.

If it is leaking from the waste pump area it may be blocked by a small piece of clothing like a sock or something similar! This will also cause it to take too long to complete a cycle. Remove the rubber hose onto the waste pump and check inside the hose and the pump, make sure the pump spins freely and that nothing is stuck in the hose pipes leading to the pump

Sounds like the 'Wash water' is not pumping out fully,You need to drain the water by lowering the empty hose into a bowl & check the pump for a blockage ( if the pump is an 'electric one' check that it is working). TURN POWER OFF FIRST

Have you ever cleaned it out? Its likely due to a plugged drain, not allowing the system to drain fast enough for the normal cycle. Check out my solution on
