That is a scanner error code , prob not worth fixing cost you more to have it fixed than the printer is worth

Error-cod 5010 on Canon Pixma MP600 does not work.

Hello thanks for using Fixya

Error 5010 may lead to issues like bad communication protocol, or/and the printer hardware.
First things first, try disconnected the power and USB and then restarting the Machine. If it don't work and error not remove then remove the USB Print drivers of your product.
If you have the installation disk its good install the printer driver again, otherwise you can get the drivers free from Click Here

After clicking on this page will open to this Click on the Drivers and Software link.

If you have already tried all of the above; it is probably that your Canon printer is in need of servicing by a service professional.

Error code 5010

This error is related to your cartridge carriage (the white sliding mechanism which holds the cartridges). This happens when it can't move properly and freely. You'll need to open up the front portion of the printer to get into this. Try somehow and apply some grease on the slider so that it'll lubricate it and check whether it helps or not.
(You may also require to open the top cover which holds the front cover and remove the screws which hold the sliding mechanism). If you do it very carefully and applying the grease properly, this will fix the problem.
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

CANON ERROR CODE 5010

There is an issue with the purge unit inside the printer.
If you are under warranty you are in luck, but first ask yourself how old is the printer and is it worth fixing and if not get a new one.

Error code 5010 and 5C20

on't know this error code, but this info might help
With thanks to a canon tech Ok Well again I will repeat this answer with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
