Clipping always lit

  1. Make sure nothing is plugged in.
  2. Turn the GAIN, LEVEL, and FX knobs for each channel, counter-clockwise all the way.
  3. Bring the MAIN fader all the way down.
If the signal LED's above the MAIN fader are still lit, then the board most likely has a short in it and will require repair.

If the signal LED's are dark, repeat the following on each channel...

  1. Rotate GAIN clockwise until the mark on the knob is at "12 oclock".
  2. Rotate LEVEL clockwise until the mark on the knob is at "3 oclock"
  3. Raise the MAIN fader to "0".
  4. Check LED's - if they light up then the channel you are working on is "noisy" or has a short in it.
  5. Return GAIN, LEVEL, and MAIN to "all off".
  6. Repeat with next channel.

I have a pioneer gm-x 304 amp. I want to know what are the lpf-off-hpf switches for< and what sdhould I set the input levels to?

Hello packs6,

The lpf-off-hpf switches control the "low pass" and "high pass" filters. When driving full-range or component speakers the filters are usually operated in the "off" position to send all frequencies to the speakers. When driving a subwoofer, the best position is "lpf". If you have a separate amp to power a subwoofer, this amp can be used just for the high frequencies by putting the switches in "hpf".

Input levels should be adjusted to match your receiver output. You don't want the levels so high that distortion results. But you want it high enough for the amp to be able to produce maximum output. Start at about midrange and adjust the receiver volume to a little higher than a comfortable listening level. Adjust the amp gain (level) counterclockwise until you begin to hear the speakers distort. The turn the control slightly clockwise until the distortion disappears. That's the best setting.

Hope this helps.

I have 2 perfomance teknique 700wts and i dont know what kind of amplifier use

Hello perezmagdiel,

That 700 watts is maximum peak power, not RMS. If you're looking to not spend a lot of money for an amp, but want something that sends enough power to the Performance Teknique's, I'd recommend a 2-channel like the Boss Diablo D400.2. It's plently powerful enough and if you change out later, the amp can be bridged. And for inexpensive, it's got a lot of nice features, including a remote level control. It's 2ohm stable in stereo. Nice, for under $70.

Hope this helps.

Audio system set up

Well one problem is you might need a smaller amp depending on how many speakers you have, 1200 watts is way overpowering for 300watt max speakers and could possibly blow them and even catch them on fire!!!! But everything else is compatable because all of your epuipment is of a newer products but if you dont have 4 guage wires or anything else make sure you get them heres a list: 4 gauge wires for power and ground, REM wire "blue is the normal color" RCA jacks, A compacitor, fuse for battery to amp to keep system from blowing up, 8 gauge speaker wire or even 12 guage to hook up from the amp to the speakers, That should be the common things you need to have a good thumpin system!!!!

Not enough power delivered

This sounds like a gain setting problem on your amp. The best way to adjust is to set your volume on the head unit to about 75% volume and then adjust the gain up until it sounds distorted a little. Back it off jst enough for the distortion to go away and you are set. Only other thing to try is use a multimeter set on Ohms to test the resistance of your speaker configuration. Looks like 2000 is th peak power (not RMS) and is only possible at high current configurations. You are probably running at 4 Ohms, but this amp only puts out rated power at 1 ohm stereo or 2 ohm bridged. Many people say Performance Technique are overrated, so maybe not even what it is rated at - 350 x 2 @ 2 ohms bridged (probably only about 175 x 2 at 4 ohms bridged)
