RC38T1-27 Remote Control for Lifestyle 38 48

The black piece labeled 100k is rattling around in the controller. I got the thing apart, got the soldering iron heated up but can't determine if it broke off of the site I think it did. It is about 2/16" away from the same type piece also labeled 100k.

Here's a picture of the loose part and the empty spot I think it needs to go on.

SOURCE: my bose pmcii lcd remote control does not receive a signal from a bose lifestyle 48 receiver

Have you tried using the remote antenna supplied with the Bose system? This connects to the "Remote antenna" socket on the rear of the media centre and is made up of 2 parts: a shielded section (black in colour) that runs past any sources of interference - mains or signal cables, other electronics products - and the unshielded antenna (clear plastic covered copper wire) that must be fully extended vertically to act as an aerial. Position this away from sources of interference and as close to the second room as possible (Bose do a longer version, free of charge in some countries....)
The remotes only have a range of up to 20metres - this will drop the more walls it passes through and the thicker the walls. Any interference can affect this - radio transmitting equipment (WiFi, video sender, but especially products transmitting on the same frequency - 27MHz or 40MHz, e.g wirless thermostats or alarm systems....) or products with poorly shielded transformers. Experiment with swtiching off other electical equipment (including lights if they have a transformer - e.g. halogen spot lamps). If you identify a source, can you move it away.....?

SOURCE: My Bose remote control RC28TI-27

Did you find a solution? I unscrewed the screw under the battery compartment lid near the rear end of the remote. The rattle is a broken radio frequency antenna. A replacement for this ancient remote is $89 plus shipping and handling. Supposedly the Bose systems can also be programmed with some universal remotes without rf antennae.

HOW CAN I OPEN UP A REMOTE CONTROL UNIT / MAGNAVOX - NC003UD TO CLEAN IT

Check inside the battery compartment and feel over any labels, there may be screws there that need to be removed before it will come apart. If no screws then there will be snap clips around the outer edges of the case, but inside so you don't know exactly where they are located. To get it apart use something like a credit card push it in between the 2 halves of the housing and slowly work it around, in and out until you find where the snaps are located, then use the card to carefully slide the snaps apart. Good luck...the snaps do tend to breal easily.

Bose lifestyle 38 remote wont work i'm trying to reset the house code but "all off" followed by "enter" or follwed by"stored " is not working

I have a Bose Lifestyle 38 and the remote control stopped working effectively. I've tried several sets of fresh batteries, made sure that the electrical cord is not coiled up, and have checked the copper coil antenna within the remote to make sure it is connected. The remote does not make any noise or rattle when shaken. It will only work when held within a foot or two of the receiver, and even then often takes several button pushes to get a response. I've verified that the house code on the remote and the receiver are the same. Any ideas?

I own Bose system Lifestyle 28. my remote control does not work at a distance. if go 4 to 6 inches from the system it takes the command. what is wrong with my system/control system? My remote control...

The problem is that the broadcasting antenna at the top of the remote is very a very thin wire wrapped around a heavy cylindrical magnet and its solder points are extremely weak. You most likely dropped it and it came loose. I re-soldered mine and it worked perfectly.... until it broke again. The leads are very small and hard to fix.
Chalk it up to poor design.
It is hard to take apart... I got mine apart by wedging a screwdriver in and twisting until it popped apart. (nothing broke) I started at a bottom corner and worked my way up the side until it came loose. It is an easy fix if you know how to solder.

Harmony 900 to control Bose Lifestyle problem.

Press the system button on the Lifestyle remote control. Move right to see a preview of the remote control. Press the down button to move into the submenus. Go down to IR Control. Select "on" System receives IR commands from another remote that has been taught to operate this system. Press exit and take a breath and try your Harmony remote. It should work. I had the same problem and this fixed it after hours of screwing around. Good Luck

How do i get my Bose Lifestyle remote to control

call bose tech support and register your lifestyle system with them, they in turn will start sending you update CD's those CD's may include the new IR databases that would help you find the right code. the other alternative is to call VIaSat and find out what brand's IR codes they are using( and in the IR menu on the bose try that brand's codes) A lot of manufacturers will use the codes from Motorola(worth a shot) the alternative option is to program a universal remote to control your bose, and all your equipment (if your equipment is hidden in a closet, get an RF remote, I program these for my clients all the time (for their bose systems))
