Another Bad Ballast?

Go to this website and type in your model number see what they list in parts /prices They might have free service Manual you can print out online.
1-800-638-3328 wait untill you get ballast board ,before making any desision about more parts
If it turns out that ballast didnt clear problem then return it to company.Have you Checked Lamp Fan, Ballast Fan,some DLPs will have up to 4 Fans, if fans stops cooling set will shut off

Ballast / Power board

Hello Kreed13,
As I mentioned this TV doesn't use ballast(s), it user CRTs and the time when you need to change one is if the picture looks out of focus of one of the colors.
You might not even need to change it, if it powers up and you can see it lighting up. These CRTs use a liquid coolant inside to keep them cool, that liquids becomes contaminated over the years and will affect the quality of the picture.
This website has a very good info on how to do it.
Why do you think you need to change the CRTs?

its probably the ballast that is bad, call Optoma and you can buy a ballast for it, but you will probably want to have a pro do it, changing the ballast is a lot more involved than just changing the bulb, the ballast is what powers the bulb and it does go out on occasion.

it's pretty normal for it to take up to 45 seconds for this set to fire up, could be starting to have a problem with the ballast which controls the lamp
