I hav an edge 426 magnetic bike an there is no resistance/tension. how do i correct this?

Hi There, does this machine adjust resistance with a turn knob or via electronic buttons? If it's a crank or turn style resistance adjustment, this is usually positioning a pair of magnets near a spinning disk inside that front cover. Electrical "magnetic" resistance units use an Eddy-Current brake system which also produces a magnetic field near the spinning disk, either way the magnetic attraction properties will stop any metal (conductive) disk from spinning, or at least provide a resistance to it spinning ;o) Crank tension units have a cable and pulley system inside. Good Luck

My new magnetic resistance bike is not working

The supplier or manufacturer can probably help you with this. Is there a support web site or toll-free number in the package.

You should contact the store that you got it from and ask them to send you a battery cover or if you have warranty to give you a new magnetic bike.

How do I get a Raleigh Rapide (circa early 1980's) to hook up to this trainer? The rear wheel axle does not have a quick disconnect and I can't remove the axle to replace with the supplied skewer

A QR rear axle CAN be retro-fitted to your wheel by a bike shop and it would make wheel removal for repair much easier. If you DO go this route make sure to get an old-school rounded QR where the handle is not overlapping the end of the axle.

Like this: http://bicycle.guidestobuy.com/bicycle-components/shimano-dura-ace-hb7800-quick-release-2/

Just the same, won't the trainer grip the (assumed) nuts holding your wheel? It might mar the insides but I would think it would hold.

I just looked at the hardware on my old-school trainer and I think it would accomodate a 9/16" or 5/8" nut. I don't own any standard wheels to check it with.

How do I attach bike to trainer

you need a "bullit" skewer, (if you don't have one already) on your back wheel.
This is rounded at both ends to sit in the clamps on the turbo trainer.Make sure that the wheel unit on the trainer is low enough so that you can mount your bike. clamp in the back wheel, not too tight as you will cause damage to your hub. Raise the wheel on the trainer to the back wheel of your bike, again, not too tigt as there will be a lot of heat from the friction of the wheel against it, but tight enough to prevent slipping. get on your bike and prepare to sweat like hell!!!
I hope this was of some help,
Jimi

New rotor was battery question

so I removed the stator and took it in to get a replacement. The shop tested it or me and found everything in working order. I have done the tests for the regulator/rectifier and it seems to be good. My manual tells me that the only way to test the rotors is to swap them out with new ones. should I not be able to tell if these rotors are magnetized without swapping them? The rotors that I have currently are original to the bike and do not seem to have any magnetic charge at all. When I took the stator in I was shown used rotors that they would sell me as a replacement but these also had no magnetic field to them. How can I tell without shelling out $80 bucks for used rotors that may or may not be good? And am I even on the right track??? I'm still only pulling 13.5 volts out of the charging system and I need help. I looked at the microfiche for your bike. the rotors are only magnetic when the field coild is energized. You do not have a permanent magnet rotor. so no magnetism when unenergized is normal.,
