Question about Kenmore 72062 Gas Dryer
I have a Kenmore Sensor Smart 27-inch electric dryer (not sure where the model # is, but the # on the lower left of the owner's manual is 3979093A if that helps) that has an unresponsive control panel. The light inside the drum comes on, so I know the machine is getting power. But the control panel acts like it is not getting any power at all -- the LED display will not come on, nor will any of the indicator lights come on when any of the buttons are pushed. Is there a breaker/fuse for the control panel itself that may have been tripped/blown and if so where is it and how do you get to it? Any suggestions/advice/help would be greatly appreciated!!!
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.
Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.
If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

believe that everything else is fine rather it is the thermal fuse that is
located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct that is bad and should be
replaced. If you want you can test this fuse for continuity and if it is bad
then it should be replaced, as it cannot be reset. If the fuse is fine then it
can be due to the control board that is bad and should be replaced.
Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
