Many laptops don't cool as well as they should - try elevating the rear of the laptop - heavy video usage could be causing the shutdown.

don't re-use windows, now and then clear your cache and cookies, and open a new window after closing all browser windows and start over, if you clicking restore last session and run into the same problem you may be just about to get an unwanted program ruining on your machine, and easy enough to start a new session and loose that problem

Try reinstalling your windows, or the program you use.
Or, look if its overheating, buy a cooling pad, it's not really expensive and it helps alot.

Laptop overheating

strip the laptop down, get to the cooling fan for the CPU and GPU and remove it. loosen the screws in accordance with the numbers on the sink. remove existing thermal paste with nail varnish remover and a clean cloth off both fan and CPU and apply fresh stuff. this is important because the old paste is burnt on and no longer aiding heat to pass through it. also the laptop is shutting down after a while because the fan heatsink is clogged with debris clean that out by removing the little fan itself out of the heatsink. this is most likely your problem if the laptop is over 2 years old. any help you need just ask :)

Hi,

I suggest try to check these things on your machine.

->Check if the machine is Overheating.
->Check which part of the machine is Overheating.
->See if the Fan of the machine is Running(Feel if the air vent of the machine)

Cause of Automatic Shutdown:
-Memory
-Hard Drive
-Fan is not working

Most likely those are the cause of the machine keeps on shutting down unexpectedly.

In the middle of a session the screen turn black, but the computer seem to be on... we need to stop it with the middle button and restart it again. Usualy it start back normaly again. But one time, instead...

You need to start up in safe mode you do this by pressing F8 while it is booting up you will then see a screen that says start normal or safe mode pick safe mode if it boots up and it will take a little while then shut down the computer by selecting shut down and then restart this will most likley solve your problem

My laptop turns off in the middle of browsing and i cant figure out why its doing it.

The usual cause is "overheating" -- to protect damage, the computer is shutting-down before the temperatures rise to "fatal" levels.

Take your computer to a qualified technician, for cleaning (dust-removal) and trouble-shooting.

ACRE LAPTOP CONSTANTLY SHUTS DOWN BY ITSELF

It is either an overheating problem where the acer is shutting off to protect the equipment, or it is RAM that has gone bad.

Try cleaning out all the vents and fans as well as you can. If the unit is no longer under warranty, you may want to open it up if you can to ensure a good cleaning. If that is not the problem, I would investigate replacing the RAM.

Shuts off in the middle of use for no reason

it sounds like an overheating problem there is a sensor that detect heat to stop from damaging the computer check to see if the fan is running and that its not clogged with dust.also you can try a laptop cooling pad this may help. but make sure the fan in the computer is running and uo to speed you may need a new cooling fan.if it keeps shutting down you may need to have the processor temp checked.with a infared heat sensening gun.
