MY 60pg30f LG tv keeps changing the video setting by it self

Try this:
- Cover the remote controls IR window (end toward the TV) with some darker or thicker tape temporarily (black electrical tape will work) and ignore for a while to see if the TV still misbehaves.

If it is stable (doesn't change unless you ask), the remote is at fault.

If it is still changing randomly, locate the IR window (small hole located on front of TV) with the tape.

If still changing, then the IR receiver circuit inside the set has developed a 'noise' (electronically speaking) problem and will require replacement.
This circuit is often mounted on a small circuit board located inside the set behind the IR window and often made by another company and available under that name or from LG.
They are often secured by one or two screws and connected via a plug-in cable.

Remote IR board

This board can be located at the front panel of the TV. You have to open the TV, to take it out. The infrared sensor can be located just behind the infrared window, whci can be located at the front panel of the TV. The sensor will look somewhat like this. e23a7382-203e-4e46-a063-a2a3486f559a.jpg

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. In order to program your remote to your TV you will need to first locate the model number of the remote. The model number of the remote will be located on the back of the remote at the top, usually a two to three digit number with a decimal point. I will list here for you the best remote codes for our more popular models of remotes. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email directly at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com.

Remote model Remote codes
3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.4 IR remotes - codes 700, 734, 512, 573, 234, 765, 644, 811.
5.0, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 IR remotes - codes 685, 512, 734, 700, 644, 811.
4.0 and 4.4 IR/UHF remotes - codes 644, 734, 676, 512, 765, 234, 811.

  3. Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
  4. Press the pound(#) button once. Note: The LED will flash three times.

Our Sylvania tv/dvd/vcr combo remote is not working and it is a new remote

If the remote is new and OK, then my opinion is the Ir Receiver on the front panel of your TV set is burned, replace it with new ones will solve the problem.

To locate it, follow the Ir receiver that written on the front panel of your TV, behind it is the Ir Receiver .

JVC HD-61G787 IR receiver location

I took the front of the tv off. the IR receiver is beside the lens. I stuck the IR emitter directly on the receiver and reinforced it with hot glue and then fed the cable out through the back off the tv. Not a hard job just lots of screws.

TV Remote control

The IR reciever should be in the front of the set where the remote IR window is located.

I can tell you that there is a lot more that can go wrong than just the IR reciever. There may be a buffer amp along the way to the uPC, or there may be a fault with the uPC itself. The fault may also be a cold solder connection, or a missing supply voltage to the the IR reciever or to some of the components involved in the IR signal process.

In opening and working on your set, there are serious safety issues involved. You should be giving the set out to a trained and experienced TV tech for proper and reliable service.

Remote

The IR "bug" provided with the Bose 18/28/38/48 models is an IR emitter which sends out IR control codes to another component. The system is designed to have the Bose remote control be used to control the TV and the dish box. The Bose media center has a strong IR blaster in the front which will flood your room with the IR codes to control your TV or Dish box. The TV sensing device must be placed at a location on the TV where specific voltages can be detected. The location will vary depending on display type you have - plasma, LCD, tube or rear projection.
