Question about HP LaserJet 4345mfp Printer
My hp laserjet 4345mfp cannot photocopy because the start button has a red light but it can print.what might be the problem
The problem may be the scanner are you able to scan to pc or email/fax from the machine glass/
when the machine initializes are there any faults displayed ( the printer will continue to function even if the scanner fails) usually the error code 30.01.02 or something like that will be displayed-
the scanner is connected via 1 large connector found to the rear of the machine - does the cable look damaged in any way- is the connection 'good' has the grounding wire worked loose, if after these have been checked there is still no scanner then you may need either a scanner or main PCA/formatter fot the printer.

SOURCE: Pale print on PDF files
It sounds like a driver problem. Try replacing the driver for this printer on the printers folder, using the HP LaserJet Series II. With this driver, try again the PDF file and see if it prints correctly.

You can try to do a "Cold reset" turn off the printer hold down the Menu/reset button and turn it back on. Do you hear the machine go into rotation? the 4 plus has a high pitch sound follwed by the fuser turning ( you'll know when it does it) if it doesn't go into rotation then there is another problem.

Please print a configuration page from the control panel of the printer
- Menu > Information menu > print configuration.
- Check for paper handling details.
Following setting should reflect.
Tray 1: Any size / Any Type
Tray 2: A4 size / Plain Type
If the above settings are not reflecting in the configuration page, please change accordingly by browsing on the control panel of the printer to:
Paper Handling Menu >
Tray 1 Size: Any
Tray 1 Type: Any
Tray 2 Size: A4
Tray 2 Type: Plain

This may be related to 3 problems . 1st as with all 49.xxx errors update your firmware first. 2nd it may be related to a memory problem internal to the printer. Last it may be a problem with the email server you are sending to. To troubleshoot update firmware, then remove network cable and try to scan docs is as if you were going to email. If problem does not show check email gate way. If problem does shw up replacing your memory may be the next step.
