No power..doesn't turn on

I have a new Frigidaire Window Air Conditioner model#FAA074S7A and it doesn't turn on. It acts as if no power is being supplied to the outlet but the outlet does have power and the safety current device button has been RESET....still nothing. Any solutions?

You may have a faulty temp control or there is a wire off around the compressor area cheak the relay on the compressor if it is burned or a wire is shorted out.Hope this helps o and try to give the temp control a tap with somthing some time it will kick on that for sure would be a bad temp control Hope i helped:)

If it is new I would just bring it back and get a new one. But U do have to wait 3 minutes before the unit turns on, which I'm sure your know. Also U are plugged into a 3 prong outlet, correct. If not that could be your problem.

I've got the same model and I got it at Lowes after the season and I'm missing the top rail so I need to go see if I can get that to get mine in.

Hope this helps

If the reset button is on the cord/plug (not the outlet) with the unit unplugged, press the reset button, ensure it does stay in. with the unit turned on, plug in the cord, listen/feel for a pop/click from the plug. unplug the unit and see if the reset button has tripped. if it has tripped, the problem is in the unit.. if it is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer. I just went on a service call yesterday for the exact same situation. Unit came from sears and was under warranty

My fan wonT shut off

Good Morning Judy,

I understand that the fan will not shut off on your Frigidaire air conditioning and heat, air conditioner, model# LRA18HMT2, even when you have turned your appliance completely off. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit break, for 3-5 minutes. When power is restored, turn your air conditioner to any cycle and let it run for 5 minutes before turning it off. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Seems like a black mold has invaded the air conditioner unit. What do I do and is it safe to run?

No it's not safe to run. It can be cleaned with a solution of 20% white vinegar and 80% water. Where rubber gloves when cleaning the unit.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the air conditioner there may be a problem in one or more of these areas:

I have a Model # FAA074S7A window unit 6.500 BTU. Is there any other maint. that I can do, other than cleaning the front fliter, to improve the performance of my unit? Also, condensation is building up...

Once a year you should take the unit out and spray the front and rear coils with coil cleaner and spray it with a water hose. The inside coil gets very dirty on the inside where its hard to see.(where the blower wheel is) The water splashing i condensation not draining to the rear of the unit. The usual problem is the unit not tilted toword the outside enough or the drain whole from the bottom of the front coil is plugged. This whole is only 1/4 inch its small does not take much to plug it. good luck hope this helps.

Warm air

could be several things...if all is working/blowing and its clean inside & outside with a clean filter then more then likely it's low on gas/freon......if you continoue to run it it'll pobly ice up/freeze......also make sure you hear the compressor running as well as the fan blowing. sometimes this can be tough listen for that deep rumble/humming sound thats the compressor.

MY 2YEAR OLD WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER WON'T POWER ON

Apparently the gfci on the plug (the reset button) has gone bad. The best thing to do is to purchase a new cord and replace it. These switches sometimes go bad. Good Luck

Thru-the-wall air conditioner won't turn on

Check for power at the plug in, if it's got power take it back under warranty.
