Hello again hello its me again and windows is working perfectly but my mp3 player gpx mw 3837 still wont go to mtp mode its always in usb mode so i dont know what to do know anymore i am useing bearshare for to put in music

Try going on my computer go on your usb connection click the right cicker on your mouse and click on delete.

in the manual it says Turn on the MP3 Player by holding the PLAY/PAUSE button. 2. Take the USB Cord and plug the corresponding ends into the MP3 Player and a Computer. 3. When connected the LCD Display will either say “USB” or “MTP”. 4. Press the “M” (mode) button to switch between “USB” and “MTP” mode. “MTP” mode will only work, when your player is connected to Microsoft® Windows® XP and Windows® Media Player 10. The MP3 Player will only work in “USB” mode when it is connected to Windows® 98SE, ME, or 2000 Professional. 5 is this helpful.Take your time sometimes these things don't work because you've missed out one step so go slow and try it two or three times before you give up

. On the mp3 player, switch between the Usb and Mtp mode (The M button) on the side of the player.

If you have an mp3 player like the one shown in the picture, then just flick the hold switch on, then flick it again to off. This should work. It worked for me.

You can switch your player between USB and MTP mode only if your player is connected to Windows XP machine and Windows Media Player 10. When the player is connected to your Windows XP machine, pressing the M button on your player will switch your player between USB and MTP mode.

Try to reset it thats what i did for my Daughters and then it worked.

keep it pluged in the usb to the computer then hold the m button down for six seconds then it will switch over to usb

I had this same problem and was able to solve it. Just go into Control Panel (make sure it's in Classic View)-> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager, right click the GPX icon under Protable Devices and then click unistall. Then disconnect and reconnect the player. Windows will automatically install the drivers and that's it, you can now go into USB mode again. Hope it helps.
