Hello,

This might be your colorwheel or ballast. If its a sound like a whirling metal/glass sound then its most likely a colorwheel malfunction. If the sound is more electrical like a buzzing sound it can be the ballast. Before all this you want to make sure you purchased an original Philips brand lamp because those knocks offs can damage your TV!!

Hoep this helps!

SOURCE: Loud noise, then shuts down after seconds , fans look ok

On U_Tube, there is a video that shows the replacement proceedure. I understand it is quite good. My neighbor used it and it went in pretty easy. If you Google the model # it should be able to give you a link to it.
Good luck !!,
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Lamp won't come on and loud rattle in back of tv

Probably a defective color wheel. The bearings are bad or perhaps the wheel itself is broken.

Chances are the lamp is the only problem. But there is no way to know until it is replaced.

My Samsung HLN4365 tv made a loud popping noise then the picture went to black and white with a lot of interference in the screen. Also now makes a loud humming noise sometimes

You are likely to have developed a bad color wheel. Do a search on Ebay with your model number or Google the model number. This will give you a heads up if you get a TV tech to fix the set

I have a SP50L7HX, I have just changed the bulb

the lamp that you have replaced ;is it the same type then the original/ because that will never come on because the protection system come on right away for the reason that is grab to much current.
and avoid to touch the lamp as possible...
but if its the same ;you may have something
in the power supply/or it could be your firmware
in the bios of your tv, look the website if can find a update file for your set.. you should have usb service connector on the set...
hope that will help you
good luck

Samsung dlp

HLS4266W 43" dlp. In less than 1 yr whining grew worse, but did know what it was. Year passed with warranty and lamp went out. Replaced lamp. Worked for 3.5 hrs. Turned on next day and did not work. Got another lamp, but did not work. Figured out might be color wheel. Replaced it too. TV started up. Watched that night. Turned on next day, heard loud pop. Lamp never came on. Withdrew and reinstalled lamp a couple times to see if that worked. Did not. Currently, with new lamp and color wheel installed, lamp light blinks, but no lamp comes on. What now?
