Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 Digital Camera

The soluction not working

Receive "access" error when I turn on my camera. The lens continually tries to open and close. This repeats until I get a message: to power off and restart again. I tried that many times with no success. I change my battery with no success. I changed my memory stick also without any success.

I have tried to do a reset, however I cannot get access to any function keys to begin the reset function

Turn on but not working

Most all cameras have a "FORMAT" mode that is accessable through your MENU options. Find It and try RE FORMATING YOUR CAMERA. You may lose stored images but it will reset the Camera back to Factory settings. Good Luck

Turn the power off and on again message

Hi,

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settigs 1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Error 50 c

  1. Power off your printer.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the printer on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
Hope this helps.
  1. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  2. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

I receive ''access'' error

The "Access" will stay there until your camera passes it's self lens test. The test runs 3 times, then gives up with an error message. The cause of this problem is most likely a grain of sand somewhere in the lens. Only a camera tech could possibly ever hope to find it. Replace the camera lens.

This soluction not working

Hi REYPERLA

I`m afraid resetting the camera will not work. The camera has a lens problem and is therefore giving the error.

Contacting your nearest Sony service centre is your only solution.

Sorry about the bad news : (

Access problem with DSC-W50

It's a problem with the lens. Usually, the internal focus lens jams up, or is out of alignment. It has to be opened up to be fixed, and the lens might have to be replaced. Occasionally, you can give the camera a good whack in your hand while it's powering up. Just be very careful not to hit the lens, or the LCD; as they can be permanantly damaged. Hit it with your palm on the corner, or edge. Also be sure the camera doesn't fly out of your hand...then it, or something will break, obviously.
