SOURCE: How does one transfer the video or 'still pictures' from Canon DC210 Camcorder onto their PC?

All you should have to do is finalize the disc. Put it in your DVD drive and select the scenes and photos. you need to have DVD playback software to play the disc also if its a DUAL layer disc you have to make sure the drive in your PC can play DL.
Enjoy,

SOURCE: How do I transfer a recorded tape to my computer

You need IEEE (Firewire) or "DV" cable to transfer video from the camcorder to your computer. The connection is "DV" and is located on the front of the camera next to the "S" port. The marketing for this camera was deceiving...most customers thought they could hook up the USB to their computer and upload video...well you can't

You can connect the A/V output of the Camcorder to the A/V inputer(Yellow, REd and White) to view the recordings on the TV screen. Once you connect the Camcorder, playback the videos and select input using INPUT/TV/VIDEO button.

I'm looking for a cable...

Hi there.

Does your dell computer have a firewire port? That's what kind of cable you need. If so, great, buy one of those at any electronics store. If you don't have a firewire port on your computer, the you can buy a hub that combines both ports in one box.

Note: there is no coverter from one to the other as they are completely different technologies.

Trying to import analogue video from VHS

I _assume_ you're feeding PAL video into the MV500i... one of the simplest ways to lose color information is to feed an NTSC (or PAL60) source to a standard PAL display.

Another possibility is that you're losing the chroma signal. I believe this camcorder has a composite (CVBS) analog input. If you're tapping off a SCART connector, make sure you use a SCART to composite cable, not SCART to Y/C (luminance/chroma). Are you using the same cabling with the camcorder as with the TV?

I believe that camera only works with firewire. You might want to check with Canon to see if there is compatibility problems with Macs. I know it works on Windows computers.

Transfering video to Mac

Digital video on the ZR400 is transferred to a computer only via the DV out port, which will connect to a firewire port on a PC or a Mac. USB will not transfer video, only images to and from the card.
