Sidekick 3 backlight doesnt come on

So if the backlight is dead, you will need to replace the lcd screen to fix that. It is pretty easy to do and runs about 25 dollars from ebay.

i have a sidekick 3 and my back light is not workin no ,matter what i do if i go to settings and battery and display its still doesnt workk im really gettin sick off this can some one plz help me get the back light back on

You may be able to fix many of those things yourself. The trackball proabaly just needs to be clean. Does the LCD have a white screen when it is on? The Camera, well that may take some work.

If it is not white, a new lcd can be had for 45 dollars on ebay.

To clean your track ball, follow these instructions:

1: Take a deep breath and blow on the trackball area, rotate and do it again. This may blow any particles block the sensors.
2: This requires a Q-tip and some alcohol. Turn off your sidekick, wet the end of the q-tip, and gently clean the trackball while rotating. Be careful not to get the alcohol on anything but the trackball. Let dry for a minute and try it out. If this doesn’t work then try again.

you will just need to get a new light bulb thats in the sidekick

i live in the bronx and its like around $60 bucks here idono about any other place but it can be replaced.

Because your screen is broken and that can only be fixed if you have it replaced.

Have you tried checking the Battery and Display settings from the main screen Settings menu? There is an option to enable or disable the backlight, as well as set the brightness.

There is also a setting called "Use ambient light sensor", which sets the backlight and keyboard light to only turn on if it is dark when you are using it.

go on ebay a search for "sidekick 3 lcd" there are dealers on there that have the part for around 40 dollars, and will email you instructions on how to replace it too
