Hi

Well about guaranteed your 2 gigs ram is probably DDR II ram which has maximum of four gigs with 64 bit processing and 2 with 32 bit is. So motherboard needs upgrade. 35.00 for good giabit or board with 1000 megs a sec ethernet lan. With ddrIII ram. And upgrade operating system I believe win 8 has max 16 gig ram win 7 uses 8 gis vista and longhorn 64 use 4 and xp normal edition 32 bit uses 2 max. So you about have to run win 7 or 8. Win 7 will become direct x incomparable at some point making us change to win 8. Win8 cost like 300 to 350 and tiger direct.com has good deal of the win 7 pro media center for 75 bucks. So spend 150 on good speed 8 gig ram, 125 bucks for 12 core and at 4 GHz I think. And a board for 35. Reuse all other componets. And you\'ll have a 2500 dollar computer and best on the block. Upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 ,now storage device not showing.

Have you tried to shut down the computer, unplug the usd external drive, reboot the computer, plug in the USB external HDD the should apply the driver. That said, Have you tried a Thumb Drive or any other USB device in the USB ports? It's a common problem when upgrading a OS that Hardware issues popup. Open the Device Manager, Is your USB controller working? Enabled? Any other devices in error? Unknown devices? Use the Win 7 drivers for your computer found on the computer manufacturer's website. Change the compatibility on the driver for Win 8.

How to make my computer faster and stop junk

Try installing an up-to-date antivirus program. I recommend AntiVir which is free and updates daily (it's also quite light-weight compared to others).
Also, install the excellent Anti-Malware (also free, with some limitations) and run a full test from time to time.
Try removing as many startup-items as possible from Windows. Check Start-menu->All Programs->Startup for things you don't need and delete them from there (right-click and Delete from the menu).
If you have less than 1GB of RAM, it's also worth investing to at least another GB (making 2GB in total). It's cheap these days and allows your system to work without having to resort to virtual memory all the time (which uses the hard-disk and is quite slow).

My video doesn't work at my internet explorer browser...

1. Watch videos at off peak times, if possible

2. Do not run other programs while watching videos. They slow down computer in general by making use of memory.

3. Add RAM on your computer. More RAM will make easy execution of heavy programs on your system.

4. Get better and speedy internet connection. Talk to your ISP in this regard.

5. Regularly clean windows registry. Windows registry is vital place that stores information for important computing functions. A congested or corrupted windows registry makes computer slow that causes YouTube like freezes. For this, get the best registry cleaner reg in out and optimizer. Use it once in a fortnight for fast computing to avoid YouTube freezes and system slow down.

Upgrading my PC

You will want to bump the RAM up to at least 512mb. This will drastically increase the speed of the machine. Also, download CCleaner from filehippo.com, this is a cleaning program that will get rid of excess junk the slows the computer. Everything else is good.

Slow computer

Pro won't make it run faster. Make sure the processor is fast enough to handle XP. If it's an older computer you've upgraded to XP, it may not have the horsepower.

Read this page from Microsoft:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314865

If the CPU conforms, the best thing to do is add RAM. I recommend a minimum of 1 GB for XP machines.

Make sure the hard drive is not nearly full, as that will limit the paging file that Windows uses. If your drive is near capacity (+90% full) it will slow down any computer, regardless of how much memory you have, or what speed the CPU is.
