Moen m5350 keeps running

I had a Moen m5350 installed by a plumber "friend". It keeps running, slowly, not very noisy, but it increases until after 30(?) minutes, it sounds like it does a sort of a flush. Then it goes silent for awhile. I can see the water filling up the top "basket" slowly and when it fills completely is when it does the fake "flush". How to adjust so the little yellow plunger stays up and doesn't start to refill the "basket" slowly (and noisily)?

SOURCE: Toilet Refills Every 15-Minutes

I have minute amount of leakage into the bowl causing mold to grow. I believe that it may be the rubber seal for the flapper body to the porcelain.

SOURCE: toilet sounds like it is flushed or water filling up in the tank.

if the toilet has a 'flapper' is there slack in the chain connecting it to the flush arm? The flapper life is usually around 4 years or so - replace it if older.

SOURCE: valve adjustment

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

I am almost certain that your problem is the fill solenoid.

If it does not work, there will be no water entering your machine.

I would either remove it and test it or just replace it at this point.

How do I adjust the Moen M5350 assembly to raise the water level in my toilet tank

To adjust the height of the fill valve, twist the threaded shank in or out of the valve body. The height of the Fluidmaster 400a valve adjusts from 9 to 14 inches. On some models a clicking noise will be heard when adjusting the height, this is normal.

Moen Universal Fill Valve Model M5350 problems

Some kind of crud may have goten into the fill line during installation and is blocking shutoff. The new fill valve could be defective. Something may be preventing the float from stopping the flow. The flapper may be allowing slight leakage, preventing the fill valve from shutting off and staying off. The "overflow tube" actually is the fill tube; the tank fills from the bottom up.

Moen M5350 toilet piece. I loosen yellow ring at bottom. How to adjust water height

Take off the things screwed on the bottom, unlock and remove the yellow thing, hold the main plastic part and the threaded part and twist, the bottom part should move about half a cm. Then pull down. There is a shaft inside the main plastic part and it's got ridges inside.

We just installed a Moen Banbury songle handle faucet, and we have very little water pressue. The pressure in the rest of the house is fine, and we cleaned out the aireator filter. Any ideas?

Hi jaryan--
Sometimes when you valve off a water supply, particles of rust or mineral deposits break free and travel along down the pipe when the water comes back on, only to stop when they reach a small opening. In this case, it could be the faucet's supply line.

You already cleaned the aerator, which would have been my first suggestion. The next step is to visually inspect the supply lines for the faucet. Are any of them kinked or twisted? If they look good, the next step is to valve off the water at the shutoff valves closest to the faucet-- they should be on the plumbing under the sink.

Next, disconnect the supply lines to the faucet at the point closest to the faucet. Using a bucket, aim each supply line, one at a time, into the bucket and slowly valve on the water. How is the water pressure? Do any rust particles come out? Flush each line until the water runs clean and strong. Before you reattach the supply lines, use a flashlight to check the hardpiping on the faucet itself and visually check for any obstructions. Remove any suspected blockages manually.

Reconnect the supply lines to your faucet and check its pressure again. If the faucet's pressure is still low, you may have a clog in the faucet's interior mechanism.
--Hope this helps

Not enough hot water, has to do with a shower valve

Hello, first if any water supply hot or cold is turned off, you will experience trickling as you mention. You must have both cold and hot in order to adjust the temperature on your valve. if you had a plumber intall this unit you should ask him to adjust it. Otherwise here is how:
Rotate the handle counterclockwise to stop and let water run till cold water is purged, check
temperature. Rotate handle to off, remove handle parts (see Disassembly in your manual) and temperature limit stop, rotate clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase maximum hot water temperature, reinstall temperature limit stop and handle (TIP: Do not screw handle in until desired maximum temperature is achieved) Repeat steps until desired maximum
temperature is achieved
