Question about Acer Aspire Computers & Internet

Wifi Connection/Capability is lost

For the first few hours of my laptop, internet connection. But after a few hours or so, even when there is internet connection, the wifi capability of the laptop is lost and it cannot detect the internet connection.

You may have to go to your wireless connection properties then check to see if your laptop is set up to connect to any avaible network.

last time i too had the same problem where i had the Wifi connection lasting only for 5-6 minutes. and lately i discovered that my anti-virus component that i used previously (AVG)has blocked some of the settings which was expired and i got Avast and installed it.. thats when i found that my wifi connection started working fine. may be the same case for you as the problem seems same.. check it out. contact your internet supplier how can help with a lot of the sercurity problems.also your internet setup might be wrong for wireless as it may be only set for your broadband.you can check by checking start,control panel,internet options,connections,if broadband there should be nothing in box,if is remove,next press lan settings and see if the automatic detect settings box is ticked.next close, go back to internet options in the control panel, select security,click on local intranet and put a tick in the box.(enable protection mode).click on trusted sites and tick box(enable protection sites)check the restricted site and do the same. do this before contacting supplier. then go back to start,control panel and look for sercurity center this looks like a shield,double click , open and check all sercurity features are switched on.go back to start.and try internet explorer.

yes 4 sure......i am currently using internet connection from Ethernet port...and i am broadcasting my internet connection to my friends using a router connected to my PC.

This computer has both ethernet & WiFi connection capability which should allow internet capability with the proper router.
Not sure why you are getting this message. I'd return it for exchange.

How do I connect my netgear router to my desktop internet to use with my laptop. Followed instructions but when cable is disconnect from my laptop I can't connect to the internet


First Connect the Desktop with Netgear Router with the Ethernet cable. Open the Netgear GUI and configure a Wireless Network. Once its configured, switch On the WiFi switch from your Laptop and try to connect your Laptop. Make sure your laptop has an in-built Wifi adapter, if it doesn't then you would need to buy an USB based Wifi Adapter.

Also if you want to use the Internet with your Desktop PC without being connected with the Netgear Router then make sure it has Wireless connection capability.

Generally all laptops with wireless built in have a shutoff button for the wifi connection. While you need the internet turn the wifi off. When you need to print, turn the wifi on, print then turn it off. It is not the best solution, but it should be a short term work-around. The other option is to attach the printer to your laptop with a cable (usb or otherwise). Turn the wifi off. Add more info to your request if this does not solve your problem,

Make sure the wireless LAN of your computer is set to AdHoc mode if the Printer is set to that function.

Lost wireless connection on laptop


That means your wi-fi adapter is turned off, and you'll just need to turn it on. Normally, you can simply press Fn and F2 at the same time to turn on the wifi capability of your laptop. Otherwise, consult the manual on how to turn on the wifi.

Internet connection


The problem may lie with your WiFi adapter on the 2nd computer.. these days NICs (adapters) have a Power Off capability and they will go to 'sleep' to save power.. you can try to resolve this through the Device Manager > Network Adapters > and the Properties of your WiFi adapter.. look for a tab on the Properties named Power Management..

Otherwise, it this is occuring on the WiFi Access Point, look for something in the interface to maintain Persistent Connections.. Since I do not use Netgear, I would have to find the manual to be sure.. but lets try the first option before we go on..
