The noise could be your drum rollers need lubricant or replacement.
When the drum rollers get flat spots on them they will make a bumping/thumping type of noise.
The grinding noise sounds to me like the drum rollers are in need of lubrication.

This indicates the sensor near the lint filter gets too hot. This is usually caused by bad air flow.Try running the unit without the vent hose attached. If the problem goes away the problem is in the ducting.
You may need to have it cleaned out. May be lint filter is clogged due to the use of dryer sheets or fabric softener. You can try to clean the filter with Windex.
If neither one of this suggestions resolves the issue there may be a problem with the sensor, there may be heat escaping somewhere within the dryer. This is only resolved by technician.
Good Luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

We had the same problem. Cleaned out lint filter and still no heat. We took off the back (lots of screws and had to take top off to get back off). If you are looking at back - at the bottom left there was a red reset button and it clicked when we pressed it (when we pressed it again there was no click). Worked fine after. This solution came from internet. My brother-in-law changed setting to "extra dry"- we usually just used 20/40/60 setting. I think it overheated.

SOURCE: Where do I find the
Have a Nexxt 3300 and believe yours is about the same so yes, several screws to remove from the back. Top also has to come off because two screws to the back are under the top. And for the top to come off the control panel has to be pulled away. Only four screws under four white caps to remove for panel to be loosened. The top is attached with two screws in the back and four nylon clips under the top. The red reset button will be easy to see after removing the back. It is attached to the heating element housing. It is not hard to do, just a pain to get to the reset button. Link to Bosch appliance website with give you a diagram to help. http://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/us/prodp.htm?prod=WTMC632SUS%2f02&ESHOPTYPE=A Good luck.

SOURCE: dryer won't start
Had this same problem on a Nexxt 500 plus dryer. First, go outside and put up a clothes line so the wet clothes are out of the way :) LOL Anyhow to access the belt pulley fand the little switch, you have to remove the top and rear. First unplug everything. Then get a Torx T-20 driver. There are three kinds of screws so go slowly and keep them separate! Remove the top (two small screws at rear). Unplug the power cable and the ground wire. Remove most (not all!) the screws around the outer edge; several do not go thru the back panel and stay in. Finally remove all the screws in the center of the rear panel. The rear panel should left off easily. The tan box with the two thumb-tack like pins that are surrounded with springs should be easily visible at the bottom. Push the one that's out in space, away from a vertical steel piece. You should hear a little click. Reassemble (you kept the 3 kinds of screws separate, right?) and test.
