After replacing a fuel pump on 2006 jeep liberty 3.7 code U1411 is showing. How serious is that?

Here is what the troubleshooting guide says:
WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on.

SET CONDITION
The fuel volume message the PCM is receiving is implausible. The circuit is continuously monitored.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
  • CAN B open or shorted
  • Cluster module
  • Front control module
  • PCM
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.

Theory of Operation
The Front ControlModule isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the ClusterModule. The FCM has to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.

DIAGNOSTIC TEST

1. ACTIVE DTC Ignition on, engine not running.
With a scan tool read DTCs.

Q: Is the DTC active at this time?

YES: Go To 2
NO: Refer to the INTERMITTENT CONDITION Diagnostic Procedure. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST.

2. CAN B BUS HARDWARE DTCS ALSO ACTIVE
With a scan tool check for DTCs in the FCM. Q: Are any CAN B Hardware related DTCs active at this time?

YES: (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROLMODULES - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) for the appropriate diagnostic procedures. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
NO: Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module per Service Information. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST.

Sorry, but it looks like it could be a computer problem.

u1411
the book is posted here 300+ times
here we go 1 more time,
the SM is clear, on all codes. read them first
then ask questions on tests no clear
the PCM is not artificial intelligence yes, all the pcm does
is run tests, and tells you what tests is failing
like your dr. says, your red blood count is low, same deal
more tests for the same reasons....

U1411-IMPLAUSIBLE FUEL VOLUME
SIGNAL RECEIVED. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .9-1118
all this is in CHAPTer 9

The Front Control Module isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the Cluster Module. The FCM has
to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.

(means data is corrupted or out of valid range)
try using a real scan tool this time

and forget that cluster toy
the the cluster is like the tip of and iceberg, x10 worse.
click wk and only in USA, ok

ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND CHECKED IT WITH A CODE MACHINE AND THE CODE IS U1411 U1403

OP: Posted by Barbara Frye on May 11, 2016
Barbara. get car serviced? at an ASE shop or dealer?
you cant fix this lacking tools, ill not try to guess.
did you first erase those errors (push reset on tool)?
and see if they return, ???? this is first.
have you had work on the pump/tank area.
in a collision?

here is why.
first check fuses. any blown.?
then do the cluster self test, no tools needed.
posted here 100s of time, need that?, or the free link to the test in the FSM book? posted that too 100s of times here. (ask or search)

next is scan it, see all errors, not just the 2 you see now.
a real scan tool shows all errors and for sure those that might be related, and any CAN-BUS errors.
a real scan tool can see all JEEP extended DTC errors.
also post if the instrument cluster is acting odd. in any way.
does the fuel gauge work? can you tell?
needle steady and correct for reality,

QOD: questions of the day,
does engine run?
does car drive, correctly day and night with bright head lights?
does any other feature of the car fail. any at all.
no charge lamp failures in cluster, nor volt meter below 14v in the cluster meter of same name (volts)???

1411
Theory of Operation
The Front Control Module isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the Cluster Module. The FCM has
to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.
my guess is 1403 is the real error. (primary)
the fuel sender might be glitching,

here is that sensor,
in the tank , part of pump, part of fuel rack. in tank.

What U1411 code means?

U1411 Implausible Fuel Volume Signal ReceivedPossible Causes Setting Conditions
CAN 'C' Bus circuit is open or shorted to ground
Cluster module has failed
FCM has failed
PCM has failed
Key on or engine running; and the PCM determined that the Fuel Volume signal it received was implausible.
This code sets in 1 Trip(s).
This code will turn on the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) Vehicle Application: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L, Vin N, Eng Cfg V8

Customer Concern: Has 11 codes. U0101, U110C, U0121, P0480, U1120, U0103, U1411, U110E, P000B, U0100, U0002. At this time there is a no crank condition.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Clear the codes and see what comes back. These are all communication codes.
2. Disconnect the modules one at a time when it is acting up and see when the communication comes back.
Potential Causes: Controller Area Network (CAN) C Module

Tech Tips: On this vehicle it turned out the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) which is on the Controller Area Network (CAN) B bus was actually causing the problem. It was also taking down the Controller Area Network (CAN) C bus at times. I hope this helps.

Code u1411 jeep liberty 2006

wow , no engine options stated, or type of driveline.... wow.
this is covered in the FSM, read that.
it states
U1411-Implausible Fuel Volume Signal Received that means to get the car fully scanned,
using a real scan tool that sees all 2006, jeep DTC errors.
including BCM codes.
the manual tells you what to do.

here is just small expert from the Factory.serv.manual

quote
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)(Refer To List 1).
Theory of Operation
The BCM has to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the BCM sends over CAN C is implausible.
Diagnostic Test
1. ACTIVE DTC
Ignition on, engine not running.
With a scan tool read DTCs.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
  • Go To 2
No
Refer To List: 2. CAN C BUS DTCS ALSO ACTIVE
With a scan tool check for DTCs in the BCM.
Are any CAN C related DTCs active at this time?
Yes
  • (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING) for the appropriate diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/FRONT CONTROL MODULE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
No
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that word CAN , means the vehicle network communications buss called CAN.
if the PCM can not TALK to the BCM. this can cause the
data to be wrong. and the
Implausible , data.
greek ,huh,
get it serviced by any ASE shop in town or if desperate JEEP.
