Question about Washing Machines

Child safety feature is worn out and won't let my machine run. How do I bypass/disable this feature so my machine can work again?

My kenmore washer has a child safety feature that is worn out and wont let my machine run. We use to be able to put a spacer to hold down the metal piece so the machine would run but now it totally doesn't work. I heard there is a way to disable the child safety feature to bypass so the machine would work again.

YES. You can bypass this feature pretty easily. There are two wires going to this little device. Pull the two wires off and use a wire nut to "wire" them together.

Be sure to unplug the dryer as you do this work so you don't get a serious shock.

My washer Kenmore 600S series won't turn on; i put some towels in and set the machine and now it won't turn on

If it fills with water but will not start the wash cycle then you may have a defective washer lid safety switch. Pull the top off the washer and check the wiring to the lid safety switch, bypass it to make the machine run the cycle temporarily.

Although it is possible to disable the lid interlock, it is a safety feature and therefore should not be bypassed. Even Mom could be injured in an absent moment. I suggest additional practice runs of the washing routine until all steps become familiar

I'm trying to disable the safety on the top load fridgidaire washer because it keeps malfunctioning and not finishing the rinse cycle.

This is something that is designed into the feature of this combo stack unit and cannot be bypassed at this current time - from my research.

Disable lid switch

Unscrew the screws that hold it to the frame of the washer.....but then it won't run because the switch, which is a safety feature, won't activate the drum to spin...it may also effect the wash mode as well. If you want to make it where it keeps running when you open it....you have to put something in that hole to keep the switch pushed down. If you're doing this to get the agitator going when you add detergent or something a pinky finger works. Again I don't suggest doing this as this is a manufacturers safety feature to keep people from losing an arm or being severely injured if they reach into the spinning drum.

How to bypass a lid switch on 26002010

You first un plug machine. Front panel has screws in the four corners. Trace lid switch to the back of panel. Cut the two wires and strip wire and put together , use **** connectors and put all back together. As you now, when washer is on high spin, make sure no kids open lids, as you just bypassed safety feature.

How do I use the Child Lock option on Samsung WF-B1456GW?

Hi there,

You can use the child lock feature in 2 ways.

1. To prevent operation of the washing machine when no wash cycle is running

To set this feature, switch the machine on using the POWER button at the top-left of the control-panel. Next, press and hold both the SPIN and RINSE buttons for about 3 seconds - until the child lock light indicator on the control panel illuminates. All functions of the washing machine will now be disabled apart from POWER ON/OFF until such time as the child lock is deactivated.

To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons again until the child lock light indicator on the control panel goes out.

2. To prevent any tiny fingers from tampering with the machine while a program is running.

After pressing the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons until the child lock light indicator illuminates. All buttons on the control panel will now be disabled until the child lock has been disabled. When the wash cycle has finished, you will need to switch the child lock off again to reactivate the buttons. Once you have finished using the washer, reactivate the child lock again before switching the power off as above.

The feature can also be used when using the delayed start feature, but needs to be set after pressing the START/PAUSE button.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

My kenmore elite washer just stop working. My mom

When activated all the buttons will be disabled and a child will not be able to alter any wash programme or option settings. Once selected this feature remains activated, even when the machine is ‘off’.

To use this feature press the ‘Child Lock’ button and hold down for 2 seconds. The child safe icon will begin to flash. When the icon stops flashing the feature is activated. If any of the control buttons are pressed, the child safe icon will flash and the machine will bleep 3 times: no alterations to the control settings will be allowed. If power is interrupted, at any time, pressing any button will reactivate the child lock feature.

To deactivate this feature hold the ‘Child Lock’ button down for 4 seconds. You will then hear a bleep and the child safe icon will go out.
If this is not the problem than turn off the AC power for 30 mintes and then power the machine back on an everything should be OK to use as long as no Error Codes are displayed.
