I need help connecting my DSi to the internet and i have a router but it's not wireless it's wired into the computer. But i need my wep key but i can't find it i need help.

You need a wireless router to have a WEP key. Wireless router will also have wired connections.

Ideally you do not want to use WEP as the security method for your router as its easily busted in seconds these days.

So find out if your router has wireless. Plug the model number into a Google search.
If so, download a manual from the Manufacturers web site. Read it to figure out how to enable and secure the wireless part.

If its not wireless, look to purchase a wireless router.

How do I figure out the WEP code on my DSI?How do I accept the terms and regulations for the DSI shop without going on the internet?

You need to provide your DSI with the WEP code for your network or the network to which you are trying to connect. You can often find the WEP code listed on your router- it is a 10 character code; else you may have to contact the owner of the network. You won't be able to accept the terms and agreement until you'v connected.

I cant figure out my wep passcode

Unplug the router, hold the reset button in for 15-30 seconds, plug it back in, keep holding the reset button in for another 15-30 seconds. This should put it back the way it came from the factory. Or, you can most likely, hardwire (CAT5) from the pc to the router, visit, which is your router config program, and retrieve your wep code from there. The last thing you want to do is spend 24-48 hours figuring out how to hack your wireless network.

You can secure your wireless network wit WEP or WAP code.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.

For belkin router

If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on wireless settings then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.

What is the WEP key

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
WEP is an older network security method that's still available to support older devices, but it's no longer recommended. When you enable WEP, you set up a network security key. This key encrypts the information that one computer sends to another computer across your network. However, WEP security is relatively easy to crack. f4008eb.jpg

What is the WEP key, what does it look like?

The standard personalized WEP code which came with the router is usually located at the bottom of the router, otherwise you need to set one yourself on the security settings of the router so that only permitted users with the WEP code can access the router.

The code is marked, so you will be able to see it very easily, it is a miture or letters and symbols.
Hope this can help you.

Kind regards

I have a nintendo wii, i am trying to figure out my routers WEP key while using my laptop. Any suggestions on how to find the wep key?

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser(Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox).
2. Access the router usually else try
3. Login to the router with the Username as admin and password as password (unless you have changed it).
4. Click on Wireless Settings'(under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if 'WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)' or 'WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)' is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the routers' wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new password and click apply. You will then have to use the same password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
