Can't set up ethernet card

On Acers website 7.3.1.73 is the latest and if the wi-fi is working then there's no need to change it.

I wonder if your router's encryption method is WPA or WPA2, and it is set to update its passwords periodically (like. every minute). If so, try to remove such action.

You don't need anything like USB adapters or an external adpater, wireless Network Adapter comes inbuilt in your notebook.

Just download the the wireless driver,

If you are using Windows Vista, for Atheros chipset Click here

If you are using Windows Vista, for broadcom chipset click here

If you are using Windows XP, for Atheros chipset
Click here

If you are using Windows XP, for Broadcomm chipset

Click here

Your Wireless network will work.

Note : Install the driver according to your chipset and the Operating System.

That's it..

There are a few things you can try for the dreaded !
Delete and let it be discovered again or select it and try reinstalling the driver from the CD that came with the unit. Make sure the driver is compaitible with your operating system XP drivers wont work in Vista. You may need to get an updated driver from Acer to overcome this problem

goto the ACER website, i use the exact same laptop, they provide all the drivers for Windows Xp Home/Pro Vista HB,HP,B,U both x64 and x86
Depending on your operating system, is what drivers you need, linux drivers are not provided.

Atheros AR5007EG adapter only WEP compatible. Wireless networks using WPA(2), or anything else won't work. If network is unsecured, it should connect.
