I was not able to find the site that shows the picture description of the fuse location near the blower box.

Hi, I might not have given enough information the first time. I have a Kenmore Elite Dryer. 'Check Lint Screen' light is flashing and dryer will not start. All lights are on. I have cleaned the lint traps and checked the vent tubes.

Yes, I was able to verify it was the Thermal Fuse by going around it for a test. The diagrams were very helpful in locating the fuse.

click this link directly this is the direct link to thermal fuse. If you find a blown thermal fuse, always clean, change, adjust the venting system and vent hood first, then it is sometimes a good idea to replace the operating thermostat at the same time. This is a picture of -some- modern thermal fuses.
If your dryer doesn't work it all and only check lint light is blinking then , check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Timer
Thermal fuse
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Timer If there are open contacts in the timer, it won't operate.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Hi Rick

A melting type fuse mounts on the blower housing and is tied into thesame circuit as the door switch. When it melts it shuts down everythingand this keeps the lint from catching fire.

usually it looks like this : http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/attachments/dryer-repair/761d1231776071-dryer-lint-screen-light-wont-work-fuse-2.jpg

To resolve the issue, just get a replacement fuse, remove the melted one and then put the new one in place.

here are also some tips in cleaning your dryer.

hope this helps.

Error code CL on Kenmore Dryer

The "Check lint screen" light is just a reminder to check the and clean the lint screen before or after each load. There is not a sensor that will detect if it's clean or dirty, it's just a reminder. The "Check lint screen" should turn off as soon as the dryer is started. If it never turns off then the control board would need to be replaced in order for the check lint screen reminder to turn off, however the check ling screen reminder light staying on will not effect the operation of the dryer.
Here is the control board to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return.

Dryer check filter light keeps blinking and dryer will not start cleaned lint filter and nothing happened display on control board blinks when dryer is turned on and that's about it can you assist dyer...

There is a reminder light to "Check Lint Filter" near the lower right of the cycle knob. It will come on every time the power button is pushed. After cleaning the lint filter, if the "check lint screen" light does not go off, it is likely that the touch pad control will need replacement.

Lint filter light goes on; vent unattached so no blockage and lint screen is clean. Thermostat? Temperature regulator? Model 3510 - about 6 plus years old

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with the first thing you should do is to remove the lint filter and clean the lint out of inside where the lint screen goes, I mean if you have not done this already. After this unplug the unit for 5-10 minutes and then push & hold the start/pause button for 10-15 seconds and reconnect the unit. If still it won’t work then it’s the Thermal fuse that has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

I am not familiar with your dryer, but it sounds like a safety mechanism where if your lint screen is not cleaned the dryer will not turn on. That "Check Lint Screen" light for your dryer may be connected to a sensor near the lint screen area. Check that out and see if that is the problem. If there is a sensor it could be faulty,
