Dell 2335dn scanning problem "updating Data - please wait"

My dell all in one DN2335 printer is having a scanning issue now. It was working fine then suddenly I started to receive this error every time I try to scan. It will scan one page then it pulls thru the other and a message pops up on the screen "Updating Data - Please wait" then it just stops scanning and then it moves back to the copy button.

I SUGGEST DELEATING SCANNER FROM YOUR SYSTEM AND RELOADING THE SCANNER DRIVER FROM THE INSTALL DISC THAT CAME WITH YOUR SCANNER

Do you get the same line when you use the adf for other purposes?

If so, check the scanner glass just before the platen for something like white-out on it. Clean both the scanner glass and platen glass with Windex.

That is a common problem on all ADF scanners.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by following the instructions in this link:

Apparently, the regular uninstall procedure does not completely uninstall the software drivers. Then, if new drivers or software are installed, a conflict is created between the old drivers and the new drivers. You have to first run the DellXPCleanUpUtility to completely clean out the old software drivers. Then, you can install the new drivers successfully.

I've had this same problem with my Dell 924 printer. I've tried all of the mentioned solutions and none worked. Paid almost $60 for 2 new Dell brand Ctg. and the printer still says "Incompatable Cartridge". It seems as though Dell is punishing me for not buying their supplies and they have disabled my printer. This should be illegal since the printer belongs to me, not Dell.

How can I remove the flatbed from a dell 2335dn


Unplug it and wait 5 minutes. Then slide the blue lock from locked position to unlocked position, it shoud move fairly freely. Then plug it back in and you should be good to go.

I want to scan documents from the printer to a memory stick, how do I do it?


you should go thru the main menu on your computer screen (assuming the printer is hooked upto your PC).
I have never had an issue with it going this route.

The network computer finds the dell2335dn and the printer/scanner finds the computer, but when i try to scan to the computer it tries connecting and fails....please help


I would suggest deleting the printer and then re-adding it. If you do not have the original CD, then go to Dell to find the drivers.

Dell Photo 926 - unable to scan


1. try to make a copy.

if it copy fine, then its an issue with software.

2. Try to scan with MS Paint,

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
Click on file > from scanners and camera > scan

It should scan if its not the windows issue...

3. Try different computer if it does not scan with Paint\

4. If it works with Paint, try to open Dell AIO center and try to fax from that too...

5. Turn the printer off, take the power brick out from back of the printer where power cable goes in , wait for 15 seconds to connect it back and turn on and try again to print, it should work fine
